My experience at this office was very poor. Dr. Howard was rude and did not provide me with my test results after tests were completed. When I asked why he was gatekeeping my results, he rudely asked, "Well, are you a doctor?". I am, in fact, just not a cardiologist. After this brief exchange, Dr. Howard handed me my printed results and promptly exited without explaining anything. There is no portal system which may have alleviated this issue. I additionally have a primary care physician that wanted to see the results, thus why I was there in the first place. Cardiology Consultants of Atlanta (after multiple requests) have failed to provide me test results. Finally, I understand Georgia is an open carry state, but I think it's harder to reduce anxiety and keep calm to maintain a steady pulse at a CARDIOLOGIST office when your doctor has a holstered gun under his white lab coat (allegedly, as I was not able to confirm this, I guess it could've been some other device on his hip, but since Dr. Howard was less than forthcoming with my medical information. Regardless, I saw this with my own eyes and am pretty confident with what I saw). Maybe Dr. Howard has been pissing the wrong patients off... either way, save your heart the stress of this cardiologist's office.

Dr Howard is nice and probably a very good doctor but his office staff has GOT to go. Kim and the ladies up there are LAZY. They don't want to do any work and give you attitudes over the phone. They are not resolution based at all. The office manager doesn't even do her job and handle escalated cases or ANYTHING. These people will leave you high and dry. It's a shame to see a black cardiologist lose patients due to poor staffing.

Horrible experience. Had a 2:45 p.m. appointment at the Hillandale office. I had to be there for 2:15 p.m. I got there by 2:15 and filled the few pieces of paperwork needed. Waited for an hour before I was called in to get weighed in and have blood pressure checked by assistant. When she was done, I was told the doctor would be in shortly. I left the office at 4:10 p.m. and still did not see the doctor. Horrible, horrible experience. And they took my Copay. Avoid this practice at all cost. They also told me my UMB/HSA credit card was locked. I had to give them my credit card. It felt like a scam is going on at this practice. When I called and checked my UMB/HSA card, it was not locked. Something does not seen right at this office. Be careful.

My mom Carolyn Walker has been a patient of Dr. Howard for years. She contacted then because she couldn't afford her 354.00 monthly eliquist medication for her afib. Said she needed either samples or a new medication that was cheaper. She called tues 1/21/25. The office manager and staff assured her they would get bk to her on Tuesday. She has been without her needs for 3 days and they have yet to call bk. This office staff always gets smart with my mom on the phone and talk down and over her. If it wasn't for Dr. Howard I would have removed her years ago. Please get customer service training and treat EACH patient like it was your own family or mother.

Patient

I had an absolutely awful experience at this office. I was a new patient and I waited over 40 minutes to be seen at my first appointment. After they called me back they stuck me in a closet with the Christmas decorations while they looked for an exam room for me. Dr. Howard did not perform any tests that my PCP had not already done. The technician who performed my EKG/EEG (whatever it was) was not respectful of me being half nude. Most techs will talk to me during the process and make sure they are holding down the gown so I am not exposed. This person did not do that and I did not feel my bodily privacy was respected. The office made two follow-up appointments for me and only gave me an appointment card for one of them. No digital record of the appointments - no email, text, or phone calls. I ended up missing one of the appointments (never having received a reminder text/phone call/email) and they are now charging me $150! Most doctor's offices I know charge a max of $50 for a missed appointment and even my hairdresser calls to confirm my appointment. In 2023 it is ridiculous that there is no digital communication with patients. The lady I spoke with on the phone was rude, impatient, snappy, and hung up on me when I asked to cancel my remaining appointments due to the abysmal service I received. Do not recommend, 0/10 stars, stay away, RUN!
