DON'T DO IT!!!
I was looking for a new physician for my stepson. He is 16 years old. I called the Emory scheduling line a month ago. I scheduled with this office because it was the only office that had an appointment relatively soon. Now mind you, I scheduled a month ago because it's almost the end of the year and I would like to get my stepson in for specific reasons. I discussed all of this with the scheduling line. Here it is the day before my stepson's appointment and they called me to say they didn't accept anyone under 18 at this particular office. I am extremely livid. The lady that calls me to cancel also proceeds to tell me that I should call the scheduling hotline back and tell them that the Avalon does not accept patients under 18. Completely unacceptable. Why should I have to call your practice and let them know that you don't accept patients under 18? This is not my job. Now here I am having to scramble just to get my stepson in somewhere. Thankfully Atrium health after hearing my story found room for me on their schedule. Severely disappointed with this Healthcare Company.

I come to this location for lab draws, and Mark the Lab Technician is wonderful. He always is happy to see you and is also quick and very skilled at finding a vein.

My 5 star review isn't for the clinic, it's for one particular employee in the lab, Mark. When you walk in the clinic you're not greeted at all. Honestly the counter staff doesn't even make eye contact. It's like they are avoiding engagement. Fortunately, if you're getting lab work you simply register on a computer in the lobby. I've done this twice over the last couple months. Exact same experience.
When Mark comes out from the lab area he is all smiles and super engaging, exactly as a healthcare employee should be. He makes small talk to help you feel at ease and his blood draws are excellent. I wouldn't say the clinic is bad, it's just that with the Emory brand out front, it should and could easily be better. Mark is 5 star!

I arrived at the clinic at 4:43 p.m. and spoke with the receptionist at the first desk. Unfortunately, she informed me that she was unable to schedule an appointment for me as she was preparing to leave for the day. However, the information listed on Google indicates that the clinic remains open until 5:00 p.m. The receptionist told me to call for an appointment.

I went looking for a new primary care physician. The front desk was very particular and wouldn't accommodate anything. I came up with multiple alternatives to the paperwork they wanted which were all declined and she offered nothing, just staring at me waiting for me to get in line and comply. When it came time to check out I was "helped" from across the room without turning around. They had signs everywhere about things they wouldn't do that were extra charges from filling out fmla forms to asking too many questions at your physical. Then when I met the doctor she made me nervous, offered no suggestions just waited for me to initiate every question or thought and when asked open ended questions gave non-answers. Overall the visit left me feeling overwhelmed, nervous, and like they wanted to do the bare minimum I asked for. The lab guy seemed nice but I didn't interact with him much because the one test I needed done apparently isn't even available at their facility. Needless to say it was a waste of my time and money. The place looked clean and comfortable.
