I love Valora. I am very happy. I was treated with care and compassion from the moment I walked in. Dr Vasquez is AMAZING and compassionate. She took her time with me, listened to my needs and addressed my concerns. I was not treated as just a number but was treated as a person.

On February 11th, 2025, I took my 75-year-old mother, who suffers from diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and kidney issues due to diabetes, to her primary care physician at Valora Medical.
Unfortunately, our experience with Dr. Maria Velazquez and this office has been extremely frustrating and concerning.
Over the past three years, my mother has attempted to change her health insurance multiple times for no apparent reason, leading to significant interruptions in her medical care.
In the last four years, she has also changed her primary care physician three times, further complicating her continuity of care.
Which was something I explained to Dr. Maria Velazquez & she stated that "normal."
A major issue arose when her nephrologist, Dr. Hasan Shahab, expressed concerns about her kidneys functioning at only 40% and fluid retention.
Instead of addressing these concerns, Dr. Velazquez dismissed them, claiming the nephrologist was exaggerating.
Additionally, two critical tests--an echocardiogram and an arterial duplex--ordered by her cardiologist, Dr. Carlos Zaya, due to her having stents placed in 2022, were rescheduled by Dr. Velazquez at her office for comfortable accessibility.
Then, her February 7th appointments for these tests - an echocardiogram and an arterial duplex were canceled altogether, at Valora Medical.
Now, her cardiologist's office has reached out today to confirm whether the tests were completed, but due to her insurance no longer being active from yet another change, the tests cannot be performed.
This ongoing pattern of disruptions has severely impacted my mother's health, leaving us unable to proceed with necessary lab work, specialist visits or any type of medical visits.
Additionally, Dr. Velazquez has failed to provide proper follow-up care.
My mother previously underwent bladder and colon surgery, yet no referrals have been made for a follow-up with a urologist or her surgeon, despite her experiencing incontinence and needing adult diapers regularly.
I have repeatedly requested a home health aide or a social worker to review her case, but these concerns have been disregarded.
To make matters worse, because I am my mother's only child and primary advocate, Dr. Velazquez has made accusations suggesting that I am trying to incapacitate my mother.
This is completely false. The doctor claims my mother does not have dementia or Alzheimer's--conditions that were never even in question--simply because Valora Medical does not have a document on file permitting me to assist her.
Dr. Velazquez's unwillingness to take my mother's serious health concerns into account is unacceptable.
This office's neglect, lack of empathy, and failure to prioritize patient health raise serious concerns.
I urge anyone considering bringing their elderly loved ones here to think twice.
This office's negligence and lack of empathy toward senior patients are alarming. Proper investigations should be conducted to ensure patients receive the appropriate care they deserve.
This situation will be escalated to ensure my mother receives the proper care she deserves. With the right doctors and the help of God, I will continue to advocate for her until she gets the assistance she urgently needs.
