AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiology at Winter Park

Terrible experience! My appointment was at 10:30am The personnel at the check in counter took my copay first and then proceeded to have me sign documents on the signature pad for check-in. She messed up and we had to start over which resulted in me completing the docs at 10:47. I was told to wait as they were preparing the room that "should've already been ready, but was not" and about 2-3mins later a second rep pulls her aside to tell her I have to reschedule because I was late outside of the 15min grace period. I informed I arrived within the grace period. She then went to check and time continued to pass on & a third rep came to inform because the Dr was already 30mins behind and I was 15mins late, he said he cannot see me. At this point it is now 10:58. I informed again I was not 15mins late, and it is not my fault check in took the amount of time it did, I have already paid & if the Dr is 30mins behind, I will already have to wait b/c he is behind so therefore I should be able to continue with my appointment since I would've been waiting anyway. The second rep then returned stating they're going to refund my copay and have the scheduler call me because the doctor said he will not see me. This is absolutely ridiculous & the receptionist staff and Dr Matthew K McAlister should do better!

We are very happy with Dr Lee at this location she is a great doctor and we feel very safe in her hands, Check into our appointments are a breeze, however checking out always seems to be very hectic, I hope in the future checking out can be more smooth. Thank You All for your hard work and care.

I'm very disappointed. I work in healthcare and in pharmacy for that matter. I deal with obnoxiously rude customers all the time but the way this place has handled things has been unprovoked and unprofessional. My first experience was trying to find this building. Notice no distinguishing marks indicate this as an AdventHealth facility. I was directed to FOUR different buildings before finally being given correct directions. I'm young (24) and was frustrated after walking in the FL heat to four separate buildings not that relatively close to each other. I kept thinking if I was an elderly patient with an assuming bad heart this same terrible direction could be harmful. I left this to be just poor design. I was just there for a check-up in hopes my next appointment will be better and let this be a fluke. Unfortunately I am again wrong. I left the first appointment with a follow up appointment for an echo and monitor placement (just incase). Two weeks later I get an email for a completely different date than discussed so I call the office to see what happen. My connection was poor and it was staticky so the call dropped and I had to call again. I was on the phone with a woman maybe 5 minutes and she was disgustingly rude and insulted I asked her to re-confirm the appointment I just called to reschedule (twice) now because it was scheduled wrong by the previous person. "I don't know what the previous person told you but I know what I'm telling you now". Ok can I just have you reconfirm to make sure I have the right dates and time this time? "I just told you". Again my phone is having bad static connection at this moment. I'm just super upset. I was not rude to begin with I can understand difficult patients being mean but I was just asking for confirmation because it's now twice I've had a terrible interaction with both offices. I loved my PCP who referred me to get the cardiologist checkup and the cardio physician herself is fine but the office staff needs a serious upgrade if they want to keep patients.

Not recommended. Insanely overpriced and rude staff. The receptionists were extremely unhelpful and almost mean. They absolutely refuse to tell you the cost of anything beforehand. Went in as a new patient with a concern. Spoke with the doctor for about 10 minutes (the doctor himself was actually very nice) I brought with me my own EKG that was done elsewhere so no testing was done. He told me he didn't know what was wrong and suggested more testing elsewhere. I left and they billed me over $500 for the 10 minute conversation in which the conclusion was-they don't know. I did some research and it looks like the average cost for a cardiologist appointment in florida is about $140. This place is almost $400 higher than what it should cost. What they charge you without telling you is insane at this place. Find somewhere else that doesn't swindle people.

ZERO stars if i could... rearranged my schedule to make an afternoon appt. only to find the doctor had moved - no heads up - no directions or new address on his old office - basically i wasted my afternoon due to unprofessional, ignorance. surely didn't expect my cardiologist to cause me to have a stroke!!!
