Patient Reviews

Patient

My grandmother is currently admitted at Wellington Hospital, and I feel compelled to post this review because what I witnessed is unacceptable. I completely understand that the ER can be hectic and overwhelming, but there is no excuse for the condition of the room she was placed in. The ER room where my grandmother is right now has trash scattered around and is visibly messy. A hospital, especially an emergency room, should prioritize not only patient care but also cleanliness and sanitation. This environment is not appropriate for anyone in need of medical attention.

Ten days ago, I went to a nearby emergency room for a heart scan, urine test, blood test, and abdominal scan. I brought my medical records here. They still asked me to repeat the tests. When they finally offered me a scan, I refused. Later, they told me I could leave. They should have earned more money for an extra test...it's just business.

This emergency room is terrible with rude triage nurses, unsanitary practices, and inattentive doctors. On July 14th, I went to the emergency room for several nail injuries. When I entered the facility, no one was at the front desk. Once I was checked in, I sat and waited to be called by a triage nurse, all while a woman dry-heaved and vomited into a barf bag in the lobby for 30 - 45 minutes. The woman even asked the intake nurse if there was any way a doctor could temporarily treat her in the lobby; the nurse coldly replied, "Well, everyone else is waiting too," and that "unfortunately, no beds were available and the wait is longer than usual." Then, I was triaged by an inattentive and disconnected nurse. She called my name, sat down, got on her phone, and looked at me once I said "hello" for the third time. Finally, I was triaged and "seen" by a doctor (Alexander Dana Thomas). All he did was look at my fingers and said "nothing looks concerning to me," while I have a traumatic injury to my finger, one of which has an acrylic extension on it that is lifting (I even told him this two times). I advocated for myself and told him that the issue concerns me because of the lifting extension, which was (and still is) lifting with my natural nail attached. After that exchange, he said, "Well, I guess we can do an X-ray since there was trauma." He even made a remark about the acrylic nail, saying, "Someone needs to take that off." His apathy, disconnection, and inattentiveness upset me. That "somebody" should have been him (a doctor). I refuse to remove the acrylic extension myself or go to a salon because the issue (damage to my natural nail, pain/aching in the nail, and limited finger usage) will be exacerbated; I am trying to avoid exacerbation. I thought doctors were obligated to practice due diligence, but not at this facility. So, I refused service/treatment - the X-ray. This is the second time I have come to this facility within a month, pertaining to my nails, and neither doctor cared. They only perform visual examinations, which is skewed because one of the nails has opaque acrylic over it. To accurately treat the trauma, it (the acrylic) must be removed. An X-ray isn't treating the issue or giving me my quality of life back. A nail injury may seem frivolous compared to other people's injuries/problems, but it has affected my entire life. I use my hands for many things and can do none without pain or discomfort. It has been 5 weeks, but many more depressing weeks are to come because no one seems to care to treat me properly. The saddest part is that this establishment is still open. No matter how many complaints or negative reviews it receives, nothing will change. They will continue being inattentive, rude, dismissive, nonchalant, unsanitary, and negligent until someone sues.

Aida the ER nurse took excelent care of my husband during his ER stay for chest pain. Everybody told us not to come here but we are beyond thankful to Wellington for being so patient with my husband and delivering the beso care to him. I am taking him home today alive, Thank god and Aida and the cardiologist nurse practitioner. 5 stars to this hospital, 100 if ir offered it.

I've witnessed deeply concerning behavior at this facility. Elderly patients have been yelled at and told to 'shut up' when they cried out for help. On multiple occasions, staff members have closed the door on patients who were screaming, and then laughed at them. Additionally, there are serious concerns about the conduct of the front desk staff particularly one individual whose behavior toward minors has made several people uncomfortable. I strongly urge others to be cautious and for the appropriate authorities to investigate this.
