Had quadruple bypass on Nov 03 performed by Dr. Velazco. My wife and I were impressed with everyone from office visit, preop, surgery and recovery. I encountered at least 8 different nurses and all were incredible. All were happy and seemed to enjoy working there. Food was reasonable but the staff delivering the food were over the top polite as well. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job and were also pleasant to work with. Some will probably think I have some connection to this hospital but as God is my witness it was my first experience there. Thanks to all that aided in my treatment and recovery.

If zero stars were an option, I would choose it. During my grandmother's recent visit to the emergency room, the attending physician referenced a type of hernia documented in her medical record at the hospital , information that had never been communicated to our family when she was there in February 2025, though it was clearly known to the hospital. Despite this, a CT scan was ordered without asking a fundamental medical question: "When was the patient's last meal?" At the time, my grandmother was coherent, alert, talking on the phone, and sitting upright in her room. She was taken to the CT scanner without appropriate monitoring, where she aspirated. She was returned to the ER unresponsive and ultimately passed away. This outcome could have been prevented with proper communication, standard precautionary measures, and the use of safer preliminary imaging options, such as an upright portable X-ray. The failure to ask basic clinical questions, despite awareness of her pre-existing condition, represents a significant lapse in care. When I requested an investigation by their own Ombudsman division, I was informed that the ER physicians had reviewed their own documentation and concluded that their actions were appropriate. No independent or external review was conducted. My family is left with the devastating loss of my grandmother due to failures in communication, monitoring, and protocol adherence, failures that should never occur in a medical setting.

I have read all of the reviews on here and I am pleased to say I had an amazing experience, I was there for some major surgery and I will tell you from the moment of check in at the main entrance to the second floor to preparations for my surgery Debbie, Robin and "Ditto" were so kind to my husband and I. My Anesthesia team then came in to inform me what would happen every step of the way, thank you Jim and Lia, anyone whom may have assisted. The recovery nurse was fabulous, I wish I remembered her name. As I went to my room, my husband was in the waiting room and came right up. My nurses were Armanda, Micheline, Kristina, Roni, Kayla, Chandale, Aubrey Nancy & Lenchi . I am very grateful to them for my care. I was then visited by the hospital doctor, Dr. Witterich. I then had a visit from Courtney Dr. Coelho's OR assistant and she brought me up to speed on the surgery and cleaned me up with a new dressing. I met Carol with OT, Phylis with PT. Case Manager was Jackie. I was in for 2 nights and I will say that everyone was kind and respectful to me. Missie & Trivia from housekeeping should be mentioned also. The treatment was the best, the food was very good, for a hospital, yes. I would recommend Cleveland Clinic Indian River, based on care and how I was treated.

My mother was a patient the first 2 weeks of August 2025 for a fall that resulted in a terrible wound. She received the best care from 4th South staff! She is 80 and spunky! She asked me to draft this review and to express her gratitude! She is the type of person that knows that if you complain about everything then that is all you will ever see in life! Grateful she taught me that! Thank you CLEVELAND IR Hospital 4th South staff for taking such great care of her! God Bless!

It's surprising to see this hospital rated so low, because my family's experience was excellent. My mother recently had two major surgeries here, and the doctors and staff were outstanding. The surgical team kept us updated throughout the process and made sure we felt informed every step of the way. The nurses were not only skilled but incredibly kind--they even asked me to send photos to print for my mom's room and shared updates and pictures with us during her recovery. That level of care and compassion meant so much to us. I'm truly grateful for everything this hospital and its staff did for my mother.
