Cosmo poor review about Dr Upadya calling you a liar and accusing you of smoking I find hard to swallow as I have been under his care for over a decade ! I am a retired RN and I smoke which he knows as I am honest with all my doctors but each appt he tells me " Cathy you know you should not smoke " I tell him I know it is not good for my health but I have cut down and it is stress reliever for me and he and he and his wife both know my health has deteriorated that my QOL has been negatively effected as I am practically bedridden with other medical issues that cause me to have what type of life , I just exist not able to do things I love so I do the best I can and yes I continue to smoke but minimal ! I just do not see Dr S Upadya ever insulting a patient because of smoking but I have had other specialist accuse me of being a alcholic ( when I had not had alcholic beverage since given birth 45 years ago breastfeeding both my children ) at UF Shands because I have NAFLD that had progressed to NASH then my liver tested F1 . I am honest with my doctors and I expect the same in return but never have I been mistreated or accused or called a liar by both Dr S Upadya and his wife Dr A Upadya ! It is not in their character to do so as they have empathy for every patients. My father immigrated age 17 from Quebec age 17 to lumberjack in western Mane he had plenty of being harassed due to his english speaking with heavy French accent and treated with distain and other horrible ignorant things happened to him that no child should see because of his pride of his heritage but he always told me "Treat others the way you want to be treated " as we were discriminated against in Maine for being Quebec French Canadians Catholics which the things I saw and heard still affect me today at 68 yrs and old so to be accused of something I am not takes me off into another space which brings all the nasty people of eastern Maine now the KKK just bought land in the county I have a home as the leader stated in the local paper " there are alot of white folks in Maine we can recruit " disgusting but I find white specialist in Maine and Uf Shands just like where I came from in Maine ! Little people acting big important with undue mistreatment of patients cause I am too honest ! No I don't believe Cosmo negative comment as it is not in Dr Upadya character to mistreat patients. Dr S Upadya is the best cardiologist he is knowledgeable, professional with a caring attitude to all his patients . If you need a cardiologist I highly recommend Dr S Upadya. He doesn't judge his patients like a lot of specialist do which seems to happen to often since I got out nursing decades ago . No patient should be judged !! Never!! He treats me with respect and dignity. He assess the patients symptoms thoroughly to come to a professional diagnosis, he has never assumed a medical diagnosis or accused a patient of being a alcoholic when the patient has NAFLD which has progressed to NASH this type of medical assessment which is done at some of the top trusted big teaching facilities is so unprofessional making you wonder why these specialists are in practice as all this does is cause medical gaslighting . Thankfully Dr S Upadya is not one of these specialist nor is his wife Dr Anupama Upadya, Pulmolgist and top Natcolepsy specialist who I also see and have the highest respect for as they got into medical professional to help all patients never to hurt . Highly respect both Dr Upadya's as I know I can depend on these 2 wonderful human beings to do the best for my medical needs !

I love the care I receive from Dr. Upadya he is an amazing cardiologist that's attentive, caring, knowledgeable, and understanding. He doesn't minimize your concerns he explains results, preventative measures, and outcomes with clarity and he has great bedside manners, I highly recommend him to anyone in need of cardiac and vascular services.
