Dr. Kelesidis might be an excellent doctor, but his communication skills are lacking. Since I never had any issues with my heart, I didn't have a cardiologist, so when I ended up in ER, Dr. Kelesidis was on call and "took care" of me. His care included the installation of ICD that was NOT NEEDED and removed by another doctor within the same year. I ended up with 2 surgeries on heart I never needed because of Dr. Kelesidis! Upon discharging from the hospital the follow up appointment was made with Dr. K. through the hospital and we had a confirmation of it. It turned out his office didn't have this appointment. After almost an hour on the phone very rude receptionist (who by the way told me I am free to go and see any other doctor elsewhere if I am not happy) I was able to get an appointment with Dr. K. Per receptionist, Dr. didn't have anything scheduled with me and next hospital follow up appointment he had available was in 2 months... On the next follow up appointment with him, which was scheduled specifically with him knowing that was the only day of the week he accepts patients in Wesley Chapel office, his NP came in to the room without any explanations. Once again her recommendations were very different from Dr. K. She also didn't explain anything, not once asked if I had any questions, and when I asked why her recommendations were different from Dr. K.'s, she went and got him. Without looking at the wound right from the doorway he said it's heeling well. The way he talked to me when I asked why there is a discrepancy in recommendations between him and his NP, his reaction was unacceptable. He seemed upset at me questioning this and I felt I was bothering him with these questions. His NP didn't apologize or even acknowledged she was wrong both at the hospital prior to the procedure and at the office that day. Both Dr. K. and his NP were in a hurry and didn't ask if we had any additional questions. My questions caught them in the doorway and he referred me to talk to device manufacturer if I have any questions because it's so new, nobody really knows how it works yet. Thank you for installing such device Dr. K.! Needless to say I didn't really have good experience with this Dr. and his practice, so I cannot recommend him to anyone. He needs to learn how to communicate with his patients and his NP needs more training as she doesn't seem to be qualified for her role as it is now. UPDATE - ICD and 3 strong heart medications he put me on for the rest of my life were not ever required! & was REMOVED by another doctor! Other procedure was done that Dr. Kelesidis neglected to do in a first place BEFORE installing ICD! STAY AWAY from this so called doctor!
