Ansel Philip Amaral, MD, PhD, is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist who is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr Amaral earned his Doctorate in Medicine and Philosophy at the Miller School of Medicine. He completed three fellowships, one in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, and a postdoctoral fellowship in genetic arrhythmia syndromes at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University.
In his free time, he enjoys watching college sports, especially the Miami Hurricanes.

We met Dr Amaral today for the first time for my 20 yr old daughter who has been a patient of that group for her POTS. He was down to earth, relatable and very knowledgeable. He instantly put her at ease with his excellent communication and understanding . He talked to her not at her and gave us information that we had not heard before. The staff there is always very pleasant and helpful and we have never had a bad experience at that office. You can tell he truly cares for his patients and came highly recommended by numerous piers.
