Procedure - November 11, 2025 From start to finish, my experience at this hospital was like watching a finely tuned orchestra--every part working together in perfect harmony. It began with my pre-op nurse, Lumpa (unfortunately, I didn't catch her last name). She kept me calm and grounded, ensuring I was well-informed and reassured every step of the way. She listened to my concerns with genuine care and addressed each one thoughtfully. To my delight, I realized she had also been my nurse during my previous procedure! Thank you, Lumpa, for your consistency and compassion. As for the surgical team, I cannot praise them enough. I was awake during the procedure and could hear how seamlessly they collaborated with my surgeon--each professional confident in their role yet ready to contribute wherever needed. Their teamwork was impressive and comforting, and I felt completely safe and cared for throughout. This exceptional group--J. Gonzalez, L. Benitez, and N. Hatcher--truly deserves recognition (and a raise!). I removed 1st Names for privacy Finally, my recovery nurse, N. Nguyen, was outstanding. Her skill and professionalism were evident in everything she did to help me recover smoothly and prepare to return home. Even under pressure, she remained calm, kind, and attentive, keeping me comfortable and confident during the final stage of my care. If you are fortunate enough to have any of these individuals as part of your care team at Advent, rest assured--you will be in excellent hands.

The card and the photo say it all. Nick Clark of the CVICU - East, along with Gary, Amanda, and team saved my son-in-law's life. He will now have many years ahead of him to enjoy life with my daughter and future grand daughter. I can't thank you all enough!!!

Critical Failure of Patient Safety and Monitoring Protocol My visit to the ER at the Pepin Heart Institute in May 2020 resulted in a dangerous misdiagnosis and a complete failure of patient safety. I presented with severe cardiac symptoms and was admitted for overnight observation to "rule out a heart attack." The ER doctor acknowledged my risk. Fact 1: Failed Monitoring Protocol. I was placed on a portable cardiac monitor (telemetry). In the early morning hours, I was able to disconnect the monitor, walk down the hall, go to the stairs, and completely exit the hospital without being stopped by any staff member. In a dedicated heart hospital, this means the alarm system and the staff monitoring protocols failed entirely for a high-risk patient. Fact 2: Dangerous Misdiagnosis. Despite the EKG being inconclusive, I was repeatedly assured I was fine. A week later, after a second ER visit elsewhere on May 19, 2020, I was correctly diagnosed and treated for an acute heart attack. My subsequent lab results confirmed that heart damage was already occurring during the time I was unmonitored at your facility. The system designed to protect me--especially in a specialized heart center--broke down at every level: diagnosis, observation, and discharge. I recommend extreme caution.

First of all thank you for taking care of your patient (relative of mine). I had a stellar experience. Every single staff member was courteous and professional, taking away the stress of waiting for an operation to finish. The facilities were spotless. The parking staff, nurses, doctors and receptionists all made me want to be publicly grateful for letting you take care of them.

Honestly, those people deserve every dollar they charge me in the future. It's the best care I've ever received. Thank you so much to all those nurses and doctors for taking care of my heart.
