I wasn't a patient, but someone very close to me was, and I spent several weeks sleeping in hospital chairs by her side. She was a patient of Dr. Gallegos. In all reality, he saved her life, and i have no doubt, in my mind, had she gone somewhere else, she would not be alive today. His experience and training were evident but he also went above and beyond. His compassion, consideration and the amount of time he spent daily, from morning til late evenings, checking on her, was beyond any care she'd received at any other hospitals. There were times where he would stand for a very long time and monitor all the machines keeping her alive. I had a little time to get to know a bit about him. It was nice to talk with him about other things for a moment, and take my mimd off of the seriousness of her situation. The entire staff at Tallahassee Memorial hospital should be commended. My words can't express how truly grateful I am for all he and his staff did. We live 2.5 hours away, and it was difficult being here daily. Family members and I took turns being with her during this very life threatening event. I thank God we found Dr. Gallegos. I will recommend Dr. Gallegos and Tallahassee Memorial hospital to anyone in need of care.

Your bedside manner was awesome. When we did our consultation with you, you reassured us he would be fine. If the nodule was benign you would close him up. It was but you still took his left upper lobe. We discussed quality of life and you said you wouldn't do the surgery if it would leave him on oxygen for rest of his life. Well, he didn't get that opportunity. We trusted you with all the procedures moving forward. Also, said you would come to Select & check on him. Never did & we lost him Sept 13th. Yes, his lungs were in bad shape due his decisions in life but you are the professional doctor & should have known the surgery you put him through was not promising. He had quality of life until you convinced us he need this surgery.

Dr. Gallegos removed a cancerous nodule from my lung. He explained everything in a very caring, professional manner. I am 70 years old & smoked for 50 years. I am very grateful for this extension on my life. He has 5 stars from me!!!
