I've done research about POTS. This illness usually presents in the teenage years. My 2 boys presented with all the POTS symptoms and we were treated like it was all in our heads. Told to see Psych, Psych says it's medical. Then the Cardiologist u take your kids to for help tells both parent and children there is nothing wrong with them and calls all the other specialist your taking the boys to for help and have the nerve to say nothing wrong with the boys, they just suffer with the symptoms of POTS but we will not DX and let them believe they are crazy. I really wonder if this is the reason teenagers are more likely to commit suicide, being treated like a nut case instead of what they are seeking treatment for. If I didn't suffer with the same POTS, I might have believed the doctor and my kid was on the brink when I found another way to get him to see a different Cardiologist that said, definitely they both have POTS. Dr. Jeremy Ramey @ All Children's Hospital had my boys so depressed and hopeless due to his lack of medical treatment. If you don't want to help kids like this, leave the job. This is been difficult to be treated. I'm so tired and worn down. I wish these doctors understood what they do to people when they downplay our ligament symptoms.
