Terrible experience with Dr. Nair. She would not allow me to accompany my wife for the appointment. We are both elderly and depend on each other for help with memory. This was a very disappointing experience. I would expect more empathy from a health care professional in a community of elderly residents. Her nurse, Joan, was also very rude and condescending. We will never return to this office.

When you get to a certain age - you finally understand that all doctors aren't the same. The cherish ones.... see you, listen to you and actually want you to feel better. Doctor Alka Nair is one of those cherished docs in the Sarasota scene. She takes her time, she reads your labs and medical history, with the intensity of someone cramming for an important test. I'm an elderly male patient and Dr. Nair was referred by my prior doc. Being somewhat skeptical having never had a female doc, I didn't quite know what to expect. Her skill and interpersonal skills are first rate. She make me feel comfortable about personal issues and is very professional.

Accepts new patients but cannot get a return call to schedule a first time appointment- No one in the "reception dept knows what's going on- It's all patient portal to schedule or speak to anyone with any intelligence- when it's THEIR Job to assist Us, the insured paying their salaries.

I have known Dr. Nair for years and can't say enough positive things about her. I knew the first time I met her she was the doctor I had been looking for. Working full time, taking care of a failing mom, and my 4 year old grandson I was overwhelmed. As soon as she walked in the room, she saw my tears and walked right over and gave me a hug. That hug told me a lot about the doctor in the room. Our daughter, also, sees Dr.Nair and loves her. During a visit to her cardiologist, he remarked that he rarely got such detailed reports on patients from their primary care doctors. Way to go Dr. Nair! Dr. Nair is very knowledgeable, professional, and caring. It is obvious she loves her job and the people who put their trust in her.
