I find that Bay Area Cardiology Associates billing practices are not very good. 1) Receipts provided at time of service just say 'Payment received $X.xx'. Didn't even say COPAY. Knowing my FSA rejects claims without a detailed receipt, I asked for one. I was told, 'this is all we provide' and advised I call the billing office.I called and they provided the same kind of response. Was emailed something similar to the receipt from the office. 2) My insurance company questioned the charges and requested additional records from Bay Area Cardiology. I watched the insurance claim sit in pending for weeks. Had the insurance company contact the doctor and request the records a second time. 3) Their billing department (Kevin) knows acknoledges that a parital refund is due and says it is in process. He could not answer what "in process" means (it has been in process for a while). Not even able to provide an estimated time frame, just an "I don't know". Bay Area Cardiology Associates receipts are the least FSA (or HSA) friendly provider I have seen. And the conversations I had with their office seemed like they don't care to fix it. The heart doctors may have heart, but the heart doctor's billing department doesn't.
