First I want to say Thank you to Dr. Hernandez and her staff, Janice,Fannie,Heather,Leisa,Jason,Jenn,Heather,Angelina,Summer,Perri. These people are the most thorough and knowledgeable medical people I have ever met. I had the Watchman procedure and the AFib ablation done at the same time. I spent a few hours in recovery. And there was always someone there checking on me. I had bairly any pain. The follow up check up was thorough and the girls at that office were wonderful. Dr Hernandez. Was very good at what she does. I can not praise her enough. I highly recommend Her for any Cardiology procedures. God bless them and Thanks to all.

Have been seeing Dr Hernandez for over a year dealing with electrophysiology issue with my heart. She is very attentive and listened to my concerns and issues and explained all options the pro's and con's of each option and likely outcomes. I feel welcomed and encouraged that we will have a positive outcome based on her knowledge.

I went to Dr. Hernandez with a history of SVT, 2 catheter ablations and symptoms that included the following multiple times a week for hours at a time: bradycardia at rest, tachycardia upon simply standing, shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, weakness, and nausea. From the get-go her tone was dismissive and it felt that she had a biased outlook on treatment for me. She told me that because I'm young, these symptoms aren't a cause for concern and that I need to learn to live with it the rest of my life. She assumed I haven't made the lifestyle changes since my last ablation and left that as the only solution. It wasn't until I brought up that I suspect I might still be having SVT that she finally offered they "could do a holter monitor test", meaning she hadn't planned to run tests in the first place and assumed there wasn't anything that needed help in the first place. How on earth am I supposed to know what kind of arrhythmia I'm having when I have heart palpitations?? Isn't it her job to do the testing and look into those things? Why did it feel like from the minute she walked in I was pleading a losing case to a deaf judge just to get some help to look into these symptoms that are quite frankly not just getting in the way of my life, but they're terrifying?! Thank you for making me feel so small and unseen, Dr. Hernandez. I've waited years for this.

I had Bradycaria for a period of 6 months and was in need of an Ablation due to low pulse rate, she wanted me to suffer another 6 months before she would do the procedure! She wanted to give me a pill, said it may go away! She was not caring very abrupt. Maybe because I'm 82 and considered to old I Googled for the best Ablation Doctors in Pensacola and Doctor Justin W Smith Cardiologist popped up with a 4.9 rating at HHC West Florida Cardiology. I called and was able to get an immediate appointment, so a went an got my referral from my primary Doctor and I picked up all my Records from Baptist, took them to Doctor Smith and at my appointment with him he was deeply concerned and said no reason to wait! I now already had the procedure done! At 82 I'm now feeling 100% better! Claiming another 40 years of good Health! Hallelujah Praise Jesus

Patient

My experience was extremely disappointing due to poor bedside manner and a lack of empathy from Dr. Hernandez. As a new patient, I expected thorough preparation, yet it became evident during the appointment that my referral paperwork from my PCP had not been received, an oversight that should have been managed beforehand. Rather than engaging with my concerns, she appeared dismissive, treating my questions as though I were wasting her time. Key issues, such as my AFib diagnosis, significant fluctuations in heart rate (recorded as high as 227 bpm and as low as 35 bpm on a 24-hour monitor), and symptoms like dizziness and cold sweats, were minimized. Her only advice was to increase salt intake before activity and 'lay down' if my heart rate spikes--this guidance given my upcoming trip involving extensive hiking and biking was disappointing. While the other staff members I encountered were excellent, I left the appointment feeling overlooked and with little confidence in the care provided.
