Gulf Coast Veterinary Cardiology

Over all, amazing. Dr. Schlater and Eli very sweet and personaable. I never thought I would be taking a fur kid a cardiologist but they have made the experience as pleasant as possible. This kind of specialty appointment is nerve racking no mater how minor the symptoms might be and maybe. Almost 3 years ago, as I started my journey into the vet med field, I found myself walking into Dr. Schalter's office with my service dog, which I have raised since 2 weeks old. He had been diagnosed with a heart murmur, and needed a mast cell tumor removed. Knowing that I may have contributed to the murmur with the grain free diet I was feeding when he was on as a young dog, I was beyond worried with the news I might get from his first appointment. His appointment was conveniently scheduled during my lunch break and I showed up in full tears. Dr. Schalter and Eli were very understanding and didn't judge me for my emotions. I have got to be a part of my dog's care and have gotten to hole his paw through it all. Follow up appointments have not gotten easier, I still worry about the outcome each time, but, at least it doesn't feel like I'm fighting this battle alone. Dr. Schalter, Eli and Beth really care and try to make is as comfortable for the owner and pet as possible. While I wouldn't which this experience on my worst enemy I would recommend this group to anyone in the area!

Dr. Lauren Schlater and her team are absolutely exceptional. My mom and I recently "rescued" a beautiful Ragdoll kitty not knowing her health history. She unfortunately suffers extensive cardiac disease but Dr. Schlater was so patient and informative. She treated us like humans and not numbers. I was very emotional and I could absolutely FEEL her empathy. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Schlater and her team. I don't remember her nurses name (regrettably) but she was just as patient, personable and kind . Thank you all for what you do.

Eli and Dr. Schlater were incredible to our Corgi. We were able to learn more about her diagnosis and build a better treatment plan for her after the initial appointment. Their communication was stellar in person and via email along the way with us, her normal Vet, and the MedVet we were referred by. We were so thankful for both of their efforts and enjoyed our time left with our Corgi there after. I would highly recommend them to everyone for your pet's cardiology needs.

I'm not sure what happened to these people. They were great initially, but completely disappeared when my dog became ill & was at death's door. I had questions about medication interactions & symptoms. They stopped returning messages & calls & didn't call to check on our dog. I was in tears on voicemails, begging for them to contact me. My dog passed away & they still never called, sent a sympathy card, or anything. It's basically as if they wrote us & our dog off as soon as they learned he had cancer. I am completely shocked at their lack of empathy & unprofessional behavior.

Dr. Schleuter is wonderful. She is caring and informative and we appreciate her advice on the best way to care for our aging puppies (they will always be our babies)
