Ion Botnaru, MD

I enjoyed my first visit with Dr. Ion. He was Polite and Caring. My second visit was ok. He wanted to change my medicine because my Blood Pressure was borderline high. So I agreed. I'm always reluctant to change meds, But I trusted the Professional. So I stopped my old med and started a New one. All I can say is it didn't agree with Me..but I kept taking it because I needed to give it more time to adjust. So I reluctantly continued.. Went to work and started to have several reactions that I knew was not normal. Called the clinic...got a call back and was told that they would let the Doctor Know. I waited all day...called back. Again was told they sent the doctor a message. I wanted to do the right thing. Waited till the next day and felt worse. So I called again. Again I was told they would send the doctor the message. 3rd day. Didn't hear anything. Finally that night I called the Pharmacy. They said it was ok to cut the pill in half and then discontinue the med. Pharmacy said I was having a bad reaction and just stop taking. So Friday the 4rth day...I was off the Med for my BP and started back on my old med. Went through the weekend and called them on Monday to ask what happened and that it was unexceptable not to hear from a nurse. I guess the bottom line would be that a Physician is only as good as His Staff who facilitates your calls. I told the one who answeredy my call on monday that I wanted Doctor Ion B. How truly disappointed that I was that I never got a call back. No explanation of what to do. And this is my reason for one star. You can be Caring and Polite. You can reassure your patient that you would never do anything to harm them ( that's what He Said) and You can feel comforted until your not. No one picked up the phone to answer any questions I had about the New. Medication. I hope that after this review that others won't experience this. I will find another Cardiologist. Hopefully they will work with me to help get the Medication right. We put our Trust in the Medical personnel and it truly takes a village to make everything work smoothly. It unfortunately did not work for me this time. I honestly believe that everything happens for a reason. And better experiences ahead

BLESSED!!! As days pass by and I see my health getting better, my blood pressure is controlled I had more than 10 years dealing with high blood pressure with no success at all. DR BOTNARU took the time to listen , do all kind of test to find posibles cause , tried different medications until we got the right one I feel confident and in peace because I am in the best hands . He really care for the well being of his patients.. THANK YOU Doctor Botnaru!!!

There is so much I can say about Dr Botnaru. He saved my life in so many ways. I will be forever thankful for him. What I like the most about him that he is straightforward and says it like it is. Dr. Botnaru thank you for everything and being there for me and making my family feel extremely comfortable and all my procedures, you are awesome we can't thank you enough !

Dr. Botnaru is a thoroughly professional and compassionate cardiologist. He does not rush you along but rather takes all the time needed to hear your concerns. His staff is comprised of very professional and compassionate care-givers as well. I want to single out Tynisha in particular for her empathic manner and great communication skills. I highly recommend this practice.

If you're looking for a doctor who listens and really treats a patient with respect, kindness and respect, Dr. Botnaru provides this all and more. He's patient when I ask an abundance of questions. He doesn't rush me out of the office. He's truly an amazing doctor! The staff at both the Palm harbor and Trinity locations are also top notch! 5 stars all the way!
