The staff is great; it's Dr. Rakesh Prashad that is the issue.
His mannerisms made it quite clear that he was only there for a paycheck.
I had never been to a Cardiologist before, I was nervous and tried to ask Dr. Prashad questions to which he only spent 3 mins talking at me while he was ushering me out the door.
He also lied to me regarding a specific test.
While waiting to check out I noticed he treated other patients the same way.
I had a follow up visit with him and he agan he treated me the same as before.
I spoke with the Office Manager and the Medical Assistant about the way Dr. Prashad treated me and they said there was nothing they can do about it.
There are other Cardiologist in Ocala that actuall care about patients, seek them out, no need to line Dr. Prashad pockets anymore.

Doctor Prashad is More about Pleasing the Drug Makers and His Wallet, than Helping and Listening to You.I have been with Ocala Cardiology for a long Time,TODAY'S visit was the Last.

Ocala location: Please train your receptionist better. As I was making a follow-up appointment today, the phone rang and instead of putting them on hold to continue assisting me, she took care of them while I was made to wait. The respectable thing to do is to assist the client that you were in the middle of helping and place the caller on hold. When she hung up, I told her what she did was rude. Instead of apologizing, she walked away to get someone else to assist me. This happened today, January 22 for my 2:30 appointment. The second person that came out to help me was very professional and courteous. The tech who did my EKG was extremely professional and had quite a nice sense of humor.
One star for the receptionist.
Five stars for the second receptionist and the tech.

Referred by Summerfield ER. First visit in Feb. -physical exam consisted of 30 seconds checking pulse and then ordering meds..Most of the visit, the doctor was chastising the PA for scheduling a new patient ( me) late in the day. Later I obtained a copy of that visit including a very detailed physical exam. Note- only checked pulse. I am sure insurance was billed for this complete exam which had errors. Meds ordered.
Returned three days later due to change in condition. Dr. was upset with PA because new med change was ordered by PA and not charted. Event monitor ordered. I was in a fib according to pulse but no further action such as EKG done. Visit with doctor was 2-3 minutes.
Took four weeks after monitor was returned to learn results. Stress test, ECHO plus referral to electrophysiologist were ordered. This visit occurred in April. Was advised by office that I would be contacted by the office of electrophysiologist. After two weeks I called the PA four times and was told there was no referral ordered. After I said I wanted to pick up my records, did they find the referral.
Stress test done in June after being rescheduled due to late request by the doctors for insurance approval.
ECHO was also rescheduled because of unavailable tech. ECHO ordered in April now to be performed in July.
When I called for stress test results and a copy of the test the Doctor refused and stated that I would be given the results In five weeks. When I mentioned that he was mandated under HIPAA regulations and Florida statues to honor record release request, the doctor stated that he had his own office policy and hung up on me. This is a serious violation of HIPPA and the Florida patient's rights statute.
Website has info that there is a patient portal and telemedicine offered. I tried to get into portal even contacting the portal administer. Nobody in the doctor's office knew about a patient portal. I asked the doctor if he could set up a telemedicine.call but he said he doesn't do it because Covid is over. Availability still on website.
I am not commenting on the doctor's abilities and skills only my personal contact with the doctor.
