HAMMOCK MEDICAL CENTER INC

This medical center is run by incompetent and unprofessional medical staff. They are using outdated technology from the 80's. I went in for my first visit and got bloodwork done and an x-ray scan. I waited patiently for over two weeks until I decided to call the office to ask about the status of the lab results. The lady at the front desk (who is very unprofessional and rude with no people skills whatsoever) answered the phone and told me I had to come back to the clinic just to get my results. When I arrived she had to scramble through drawers and shelves of physical manila envelopes to fetch my file and only found the bloodwork information with my X-ray results nowhere in sight. I then spoke to Mayra (not a doctor) and she assured me that I would receive the X-ray results via email the next day and actually had to ask me to write down my email (even though I had already provided it upon my initial paperwork file) and assured me I would get it the next day via email. Over a week goes by and, again, I had to follow up with a phone call because I scoured through my email without a single message from this terribly disorganized clinic amywhere in sight! Upon calling I was informed that I did not get my X-ray email because their 'scan (not scanner; English is apparenrlt a challenge for everyone there) was out of order' and that I had to come in again for my X-ray results. I demanded to speak to a doctor to just ask about my results and of course there wasn't a doctor, nor any qualified medical professional, available to address the issue, nor my concerns about my X-ray results. I could not believe that they were telling me that this entire setback was due to a broken/dysfunctional scanner. When I asked how they were operating a medical clinic with such outdated technology and medical equipment Mayra shamelessly admitted that they were working with 'equipment from the 80s' (which I had suspected was the case when I witnessed it for myself during my first visit; It felt like I traveled bavk in time). The doctor I met with was about as personable as a DMV employee and was trying to make me come in on another date for the bloodwork, even though I assured him I was fasted (he then stepped out to lunch and brought his food back into the clinic and ate it in a back room where I could witmess him eating). The fact this kind of operation can pass as an excuse for a medical clinic is absolutely terrifying and disconcerting. I will not be going back to that clinic ever again! Also, this place has the AUDACITY, to make patients sign a medical malpractice waiver! I should have run out of the door then!!

I have been coming to this clinic for about 5 years now and I have never had a negative experience. The staff is always kind, very concerned for the patient's comfort, and never unnecessarily prescribes medication or requests tests like so many other clinics and hospitals do. The doctors are very informative when questions are asked or concerns are voiced. The doctors also make a habit to write down notes on their conversation with patients so they have all the information necessary to properly diagnose and treat you while remaining very attentive to any concerns or questions you have.

I have been coming here for over 7 years and will always recommend this place. They really care about their patients, I'm always seen when I need to be and I am always taken care of. They have been a small business of almost 30 years, built from the ground up by Cuban refugees and being Cuban myself, I feel very secure and comfortable. They have always cared more about the patient than the money, unlike many medical service providers. Recently, they got new staff and they are extremely professional, and speak both English and Spanish. I've recommended friends and family to go here and they always come back grateful and satisfied.

I was sent to this medical center because of my insurance. Knowing what I know now, I will never come back. I've never had such an incompetent doctor like this one. I go in like normal & fill out all the paperwork, there were some papers that i wasn't supposed to fill out but that was never explained to me. As I go in, the usual is done, they weigh you, take your temperature, check your height, all that jazz but I was given an option to see the female doctor or the male doctor. I've never been to this clinic so I didn't have a preference. I was given the male doctor. I don't want to say his name but it was the worst experience i've had with a doctor EVER. He was mainly on the computer typing, asked me a few questions, he was very soft spoken, laid me down on the cot & basically did nothing. he wrote down on a piece of paper a couple of things I needed to do, like tests but not once did he mention what they are. In his defense though, I should've asked more questions but usually if you are a good doctor who cares about their patients, you'd be clear about everything. It just seems like this doctor got his degree from a cereal box.On the plus side, I didn't wait very long to be attended but that's about it. I paid $40 for an interview. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Had a wonderful overall experience at this medical center. I did my immigration exam and from start to finish, each and every lady was very attentive and detail oriented regarding immigration procedures, which I greatly appreciated! I will 100% recommend this place to anyone! Wonderful staff and Dr :)
