Patient
I have been a patient of Dr. Corniel for many years, and I can confidently say he is fantastic. His expertise and care are the reasons I also bring my children to see him. However, I have had some frustrating experiences with the front desk staff, particularly with one older lady who has blonde hair and wears glasses. On a recent call regarding my son's sickle cell test--required for him as an athlete--I encountered a dismissive attitude. She informed me that they don't perform the test because he is "too young to get checked for colon cancer." This response was not only irrelevant but also concerning, as the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) mandates sickle cell trait testing for all student-athletes. The test is essential for identifying potential risks during intense physical activity. It's disappointing to receive such rudeness from someone who should be knowledgeable and helpful. I believe the front desk staff should communicate effectively and respectfully, as their attitudes can significantly impact patients' experiences. Because of this incident, I am hesitant to return, and I may reconsider bringing my children back as well. Dr. Corniel's practice deserves a front desk that reflects his professionalism and care. I hope the staff can improve their communication skills moving forward.
