My father had open heart surgery back in November. Dr. Tompkins was his surgeon and I cannot stop praising him. From beginning to end, we had an amazing experience. Two weeks before surgery, Dr. Tompkins took the time to call me to explain the procedure and listen to my concerns. During and after surgery, Dr. Tompkins and his staff were exceptional. I couldn't have asked for a more professional and caring surgeon. I highly recommend him. Just know you are in good hands.
My husband Jorge had open heart surgery on October 28th. Dr Tompkins was his surgeon. I highly recommend him!!! He is not only an excellent surgeon, he also has the patience and sensitivity to listen and take the time to address all the concerns and fears of the patient's family members. Dr. Tompkins saved my mother's life! She had 4 major arteries clogged including the widows maker. She could have had a deadly heart attack at any moment. Under the care of Dr. Tompkins and his team, at the Baptist Hospital, my mother was closely monitored and admitted to the hospital, a few days prior to her surgery. Nurses and all Baptist team were supper attentive and kept us well informed of all medical tests needed and course of action. Surgery was a success and so was her recovery thanks to all the cardiology team and hospital nurses. My mother is also legally blind and hospital team made sure to accommodate to her disability. We are very thankful that we took her there, and we felt throughout the whole process: from being admitted, surgery and recovery; that the cardiology team were very competent.
My wife had a tremendously successful triple bypass surgery done by Dr. Tompkins at Baptist. Not only does he get 5 stars for the operation but 5 more for his demeanor in keeping me well informed and assuring me that everything was being handled properly throughout the recovery phase until she was transferred to Cardiac ICU. My highest praise is that I would let him work on my kids hearts.
