My husband came to this hospital for chest pain and was placed in Room 5 and what we experienced was completely unacceptable. The room was absolutely disgusting and a clear violation of any reasonable cleaning and sanitation standards you would expect from a hospital. The floors were filthy. The bed railing still had old bodily fluids on it. The trash can was overflowing. The hand sanitation station was dried out and crusted over. Worst of all, the bedding had visible specks of blood on it. This is completely unsanitary and dangerous, especially for patients already facing serious health concerns. Hospitals should be places of healing not places where you fear getting worse. I have attached photos to document the state of the room. I hope leadership takes this seriously because this level of neglect is absolutely unbelievable and unacceptable. And 1 star is just to create this review.

I was in the Viera Hospital from 6/20-6/27. I was in a coma for 24 HOURS. I didn't get one shower not one time the whole week I was there despite numerous requests for a simple shower. When my mother came and had to get stern, they finally gave me a shower and took an IV I didn't even need the very last day of my stay. I had sitters that had to sit with me everyday and I even asked them to get me a shower and never did. One sitter called my mother a cooky bird, and told me my husband brings me down. I will never ever step foot into this hospital again! Good luck to ANYONE who has to stay for an extended time here.

My daughter went to ER on June 2. 4 days post operation for very serious bladder and rectum repair. She had be in horrible pain with major swelling. She thought she might have complications. She arrived in home hospital gown with her catheter still in per doctors orders. She was left 7 hours on hard bed no water to drink and no medicine. She told them she did want narcotics but Tylenol to ease the pain. Finally about 3 hours in she got Tylenol. They treated her like someone looking for heavy drugs. She waited hours for Cat Scan and almost 4 hours for results. They finally left at 11pm without results and my daughter worse than when she came. Doctor acted incompetent but nurses were very helpful. I wouldn't bring a poodle to that ER. They better pray to God Cat Scan came out good.

I am literally typing this from a different hospital after Health First Viera refused to help me when I presented to their ER and informed the staff that I was soaking through more than one pad per hour and passing clots the size of small eggs. To be clear, I tried to get in to see a gyno and they said "go to the ER. You are bleeding excessively and you must be evaluated." The staff at Viera kept me in a hallway and had me pee in a cup, established that I wasn't pregnant and that my hemoglobin wasn't at "dangerous levels" and told me there was nothing they could do for me. Just to be clear, soaking a pad per hour with large clots is an active hemorrhage which any medical provider will agree requires immediate evaluation to rule out structural issues such as polyps, fibroids, or retained tissue after a miscarriage. I was refused any exam or treatment and when I asked to see what the provider had written in my chart, I saw that almost none of what we had discussed was reflected in the provider note and nowhere was it mentioned the amount I was bleeding or the size of the clots. I explained to the provider that my hemoglobin results were within range due to me slamming Hemaplex twice a day, and once again I was told that unless my hemoglobin was below an 8 there was nothing they could do for me. I drove to the next hospital and I am being properly evaluated and ultrasound is on the way as I type this. If you are a woman having an emergency that involves your uterus do NOT go to Viera Hospital. They will turn you away unless you're actively dying. Once again it bears repeating, soaking a pad per hour with large clots is an active medical emergency that requires proper evaluation.

I am very disappointed with this ER. My mother in law was in MVC and was in so much pain. Her nurse came by, got vitals, then left and we never saw her again. I had to track down the APRN for pain meds. My mother in law was just wanting Tylenol because she didn't want to be a bother even though she was crying in pain. Finally after 3 hrs, a different nurse came with discharge paperwork and pain medication. As a healthcare worker, I was very disappointed in the lack of communication and attentiveness. I understand they have to triage people and such, but please don't forget about the people in MVC.
