About Dr. Salma Akter, MD
Dr. Salma Akter is a board-certified cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care for a wide range of heart conditions. Originally from Bangladesh and raised in New York City, Dr. Akter earned her undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology before completing her Doctor of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in 2008. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center.
