My daughter had chest pain that her pediatrician diagnosed as probably growing pain but just to be on a safe side referred her to a cardiologist for EKG. When I called to make appintoment a ignorant person answered and after I had to spell every word I said, cause she didn't know how to, she told me it is going to be little bit over $3000. I was so shocked so I asked what does it say that needs to be done, she didn't even know but she knew it is going to be over $3000. In a accusing voice said that's why you need to have insurance! So sad. They charge so much because insurance is going to pay not based on procedures needed. That is why insurances do not want to pay for all these ridiculous charges and even though you have insurance at the end, you have to pay to your insurance and to the doctor. At the end my daughter will not be getting this expensive EKG from this Dr. office. I never met the Dr and I am sure she is very good in what she does but I am not very convinced that her receptionist should answer the phone.
