Dr. Katz is amazing. One month ago today he performed a quadruple bypass on me. He explained the procedure to me perfectly and every single thing that he told me was gonna happen, happened just the way he said, pre-op, during the operation and post-op. He made me feel like I was going in for a "procedure" rather than OMG!! Open heart quadruple bypass!!!" Are you kidding me. He even had the warmth to allow me a day to lay in the hospital and just digest the horrific news. "I got this. I do it almost daily. 30 odd years. It's really not a big deal from my standpoint". Stopped in to see me after the surgery every day until I got out of the hospital. Made me feel like he was looking forward to spending the time with me. By the way, I'm already walking 6 miles a day and feel great. .....

Dr. Katz is an extraordinary thoracic surgeon, and any hospital or patient would be lucky to have him. I had an aortic dissection that required emergency surgery, and Dr. Katz saved my life with 8 hours of open heart surgery. He is also incredibly conscientious, following up with his patients on a daily basis following surgery and putting in extensive hours to ensure that his patients are getting the best possible care. He is a dedicated physician who is passionate about his work and keeps up to date with new medical technology. I reside mostly in the New York city area and have been under the care of Dr. Leonard Girardi at Weill Cornell, one of the top thoracic surgeons in the world. When he saw the scans of my newly repaired aorta, he was very impressed with the repair that Dr. Katz made, and told me that i was incredibly lucky that he was there to do it. I have since heard about many other patients who have has the good fortune to have been treated by Dr. Katz, not only for his expertise as a surgeon, but also because of his dedication to his patients.

My husband had open heart surgery by Dr. A. Katz. He was wonderful and we are grateful for his knowledge. Outstanding!!! We are so blessed to have met him. Can't say enough great things about him. I could go on and on.

Saved my life. Open heart surgery for mitral valve replacement and repair of tricuspid valve. Spent hours before surgery explaining procedure. After surgery, he was there in the ICU to keep an eye on me, making sure I was OK. His office staff and his hospital staff are top-notch, caring individuals.

Excellent doctor, except my life, very detailed and attentive to his patients, is very persevering and constant when it comes to saving a life and is in his hands, I thank God for having placed my life in his hands. Although I only speak the Spanish language, Dr. Katz looked for ways to communicate with me and explain the type of operation that I was going to practice.
