Dr. Alvarez and his team provide excellent medical care and the best bedside manner you can find. I have been a patient for about 15 years and no other doctor's practice is like this one.. Dr Alvares has been my doctor for more than 20 years. He is knowledgeable and practical. He listens carefully to my questions and concerns and clearly explains my treatment options and diagnosis. The staff members are friendly and professional. My family and I are happy to be with Dr Alvares, and we would recommend him to anyone that is looking for a family practice that really care for all their patients.
On my first visit I told him I was taking adderall for anxiety and ADHD, his first response was if I was suicidal. Not cool. The last time I went for a follow up on my blood work, they had me wait 3 hours before I saw the doctor. Very not cool. My time is precious and to sit and wait for 3 hours for 10 minute consult. Never again nice knowing you. But no.
My husband's appointment was at 8:30am. We got called in the room at 11:30am. 3 hours just to be called in. When the nurse was going over my husband's medication, I informed her that he wasn't taking a specific one. I said he doesn't need it. His cholesterol is fine. She said it's to protect his kidneys, which in fact is not and he has no issues with his kidneys. She then proceed to argue with me and said the doctor will explain it. The doctor came in for 5 minutes after an almost 4 hour wait and basically just showed him out. When we were given the paperwork of labs he needed to do, only one medication was being refilled when we requested his others to be refilled. He sends referrals to doctors that are not needed for issues that were not discussed at the appointment. He came highly recommended but the wait time alone is ridiculous. The patients time is important as well. Will be looking for another PCP. Receptionist is also rude and doesn't know how to smile.
I have been patient of Dr. Pedro Alvarez for more than 10 years. Dr. Alvarez is incredibly knowledgeable and always take the time to answer all my questions and explain everything in detail. The staff always made me feel comfortable and well-cared for. The waiting time is long; because everyone wants to be his patient. I highly recommend Dr. Alvarez.
