I had the worst experience when I had to have my generator replaced. I was wide awake and alert when they started injecting me, and even though I was screaming in pain and hyperventilating, they continued on and just yelled for someone to get me more medication. They let me lay there, crying in pain, and didn't stop. I felt like they just wanted to rush me in and out, like they have their patients lined up on a conveyor belt. Also, it's suspicious that the whole incident and the extra medication wasn't logged on the patient log. I have lost my trust for the cardiologist and I will never be back. I'll drive 2 or 3 hours to another cardiologist, just to avoid this one.

My mom has quadruple bypass surgery here and her care was phenomenal. The entire experience was patient and family focused. The Physician Assistants, ICU nurses and doctors and surgeons were all incredible. We are grateful for having chosen this hospital.

I came to visit my mom after having heart surgery. The very first thing she says is that the male nurses are mistreating her. She has worked in this same situation and has medical knowledge. She tells them they are being to rough and they get rougher. She swears that she felt like they were trying to harm her the night before. She's will barely tell us anything and can't wait to get off of the 7th floor where the bad ones are. She's so afraid if we say something they will get her again! Please help!!!

My appointment with Dr Goel was on 12/17/19 at 3pm. I arrived at about 2:20 and checked in at the front desk where it said "check-in." I looked over my info on the tablet she handed me and she explained I'll be called closer to my 3pm appointment. I told her that was fine. She told me to sit in between section A and B. I noticed a sign in the waiting room that said if I was there past my scheduled appt 30 minutes to notify the front desk. At 3:30pm I went to the front desk and told her I've been here 30 minutes past my appointment. She looked for me in the computer. She obviously couldn't find me. She asked me where I checked in at and I pointed to the lady next to her. She went in the back and came back saying "you're next." No mention of a mistake or an apology. At 4pm I asked again and she assured me I was next. Moments after I was called back. The nurse was extremely friendly and sweet. She gave me an EKG and I only waited a minute for Dr Goel. He came in, shook my hand and began questioning me why I was late and what the problem was. I explained I arrived 40 minutes early. He continued to ask why I was late and he continued to doubt my word. Then immediately after, only been in the room 2 minutes and he asked why I was there and who sent me. He told me he couldn't help me and have I considered seeing a psychiatrist. I told him there was nothing wrong with my brain. He then rudely questioned me asking me "who said you have afib and irregular heartbeat " I told him the drs did that it's in my records. He told me he looked at my records and theres nothing wrong with me. He then proceeded to ask me if I smoked and I answered him. Then he asked me what I did for a living and I explained. Then he asked me who I worked for. I explained that it was my company and I worked for no one. He then with anger and frustration asked me once again "who do I work for!?" I once again told him I owned the company and I work for no one. Then he questioned why I tear walls down. I started to cry and he told me to "stop crying and good luck" and sent me out the door. I was never treated so badly from a dr in my life. He didnt believe anything I said, scolded me for "being late" and told me he couldn't help me within 2 minutes of walking in the door. I thought Shands was for people that had trouble getting a diagnosis. That's why I was sent there. I left there crying and had a two hour drive ahead of me in a thunderstorm. I'll never go back to Shands. I was forgotten in the waiting room and no one apologized for the mistake and then to be treated like that by Dr Goel was humiliating . Shame on this office!
UPDATE: I have been diagnosed with SVT which means the electrical part of my heart doesn't work and I have abnormally fast heartbeat due to improper electrical activity of my heart. My heart rate has been proven to beat 234 beats a minute out of nowhere. I have test results showing this. So for someone having "nothing wrong with you" I sure have a serious heart issue. To add insult to injury, this Dr charged me I think it was $700.00 for this doctor's appointment where I was so horribly treated. Mind you..I have refused to pay it and I also reported Dr Goel to my health insurance. So Dr Goel, there is something seriously wrong with my heart. You were wrong!
UPDATE:
My heart rate hasn't gone over 43 in months and I was diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension as well...where I pass out when I stand up..I HAD PACE MAKER SURGERY YESTERDAY 04/08/25. DR GOEL..YOU WERE SERIOUSLY WRONG!!! AND YEARS LATER I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED AN APOLOGY FROM YOU!!!
DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!!

Dr Shah and her staff perform double heart stents, out the next day! Truly concerned about the patient. It was high risk procedure, was told I was not a good open heart patient candidate. Everything went good, Thank you.
