Dr. Shady Henien is my cardiologist. I have no issues with him whatsoever. Him & his staff are on point, never slacked...not even once. He needs a bigger office with a much larger waiting room, thats for sure. Sitting in the hall bc the waiting room is jam packed stinks, but other than that, he's awesome ! Top notch my guy
I hate leaving this review because I really, really liked Dr Henien. I saw him on July 8,2025 in the Destin office and connected with him right away. I thought..."finally I have found my Doctor"! He ordered a heart cath asap and to this date (8-20-25) it has not been scheduled. I have called the office repeatedly and even my insurance company contacted them Questioning why the cath had not been scheduled. I was able to get into another cardiologist and had a heart cath scheduled within two days. I do not blame Dr. Henien one bit, but his office staff really dropped the ball on me!
I have major surgery coming up and my primary care physician Dr. Seagle was concerned about my heart and referred me to Dr. Henien and he's been great. He's running all the needed test to insure my heart can handle it and he's also treating arterial issues in my legs that cause pain and prevent me from walking more than short distances. I have a lot of confidence in not only this doctor but his staff as well. They went out of their way to try to get my test scheduled without having to re-schedule the surgery. Everyone was not just friendly but exuded knowledge and concern and expertise. Bottom line is I felt like I was in good hands. Followup- I have no doubt Dr. Henien's training, skills and pure instincts saved my life. He insisted I get a Heart Cath before anything else even though some other test seemed to imply my heart was not great but not extremely bad. The Heart Cath told a different story. All three arteries blocked. One was 99%. Now I'm waiting for life saving open heart surgery. I'm scared but excited at the same time. Thank You Dr. Henien!
I have tachycardia that began when I contracted Covid. Took me 6 months to get any answers or hope for treatment. But instead I was told my Dr Heinen that my tachycardia was because of my weight. I have been on the heavier side for 20 years without any cardiac issues. His plan of treatment was for me to lose weight and come back in 6 months. No treatment whatsoever. When i asked him if he would treat me any different if i was skinnier and told him that he was being fatphobic, he got very upset and said that i was totally inappropriate for speaking to him that way. I complained to the office manager and was basically told to just find a new doctor. Hope I don't stroke out or have a heart attack before I can find a new cardiologist that isn't fatphobic. If I could leave zero stars I definitely would!
Dr. Henien saved my husband's life. He and his staff are top notch.
