Patient
Admitted after 9 hours at Coconut Pt ER . Was told at Lee Health Coconut Point I had a mild heart attack and I needed a heart Cath and poss stents. I edited another 4.5 hours for transport to Health Park. I did not see a Cardiologist for 17 hours at which time I was told "I don't know why they sent you here! You can't breathe. That's why your troponin #s are elevated! You have bronchitis and asthma. Then told at 2:30 Sat it would be Monday before I could have an Echo! To make matters worse, I was presented a letter that because I was in an Observation unit, not really admitted, that my Medicare Part B would not cover expenses as Part A would have! I insisted on going home to rest and having the Echo as an outpatient which was approved. Someone then "forgot" to call in the prednisone but instead phoned in my inhalers which I had a 3 month supply on hand. Now Lee Health is trying to collect $240 deductibles for all of four follow up scans and tests my doctors requested yet I have Medicare and Tricate for Life that typically covers everything!
