Gulf Coast Medical Center

The nurses and staff here at Gulf Coast, Medical Center are hit and miss. Do not go to this facility. Our experience with the back surgery was excellent good nurses lots of help did PT more often but this gallbladder surgery was not very good. I can live with bad food but to have incompetent staff and also management that rights reports that don't indicate your actual condition and then try to place you to get you out of there theater of operation.

Went in for a severe allergic reaction. From the minute I stepped in to the time I left I was very well taken care of. I have no bad things to say. All nurses, doctors & staff were great. They acted quickly and my whole stay they were very caregiving, thoughtful and aware of my situation. I didn't have to constantly explain my case over and over. They had answers to all my questions and concerns. I didn't feel ignored no matter how dumb I felt some of my questions were. They constantly checked on me to make sure I was showing improvement or if I needed anything during my stay. I highly recommend them! Hopefully I won't need to go back, but if I ever do I will be going here before anywhere else. I didn't have to wait since mine was an allergic reaction. Keep in mind waiting time always depends what you are there for.

I want to start off by saying thank you to everyone that I received care from in ER. The nurse kayla in triage ( she got rid of my headache within seconds) and the admitting Dr Spencer (who reinsured me nothing was wrong with my kidneys). The nice LPN who drew my labs and was so gentle I didn't even feel it. The women who did my MRI was very nice and made me feel very comfortable with the process. The transporters who had nothing but words of encouragements to say, I dealt with at least 4 four of them and they all were so sweet. Thank y'all. BUT I want to give a special THANK YOU to my nurse SHELBY 3RD FLOOR OBSERVATION! She was absolutely wonderful! She had the patience of a saint and moved with so much grace. I was having a hard time in there (panic attacks), and she made me feel like what I was going through was okay. She didn't judge or get upset, she simply sympathized with me and met my needs. And for that I thank her so much. She made my stay comfortable. She is a wonderful nurse. That girl is going places. THANK YOU SO MUCH SHELBY FOR ALL THAT YOU DO, PLEASE CONTINUE ON BEING YOU -JADE

I'm on the edge of giving 5 stars. We spent more time in the ICU than we wanted for sure. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. Laurie and Brooke were by far my mom's favorites. We formed a great relationship with all the staff, the cleaning staff were always polite, and the CNAs we also so helpful. We hope to be out of ICU soon, with my mom doing so much better. Thank you for taking care if us and our mother. We are very appreciative.
