Mease Dunedin Hospital

This is an extraordinary organization. The staff from admission to discharge are focused in providing an excellent standard of patient focused, compassionate care. From Dr Joshua Mandell Hospitalist to ER RN Kylie, Hailie, Ortho floor RN, to Colleen and Raphael in CT and so many others I regret I cannot recall --you are in great hands. I worked in healthcare systems for 30 years and I know excellence in care when I see it. We are privileged to have a healthcare system of this caliber in our community. Thank you for what you do everyday that makes such a difference in your patient's lives.

Everything clearly exceeded my expectations. In particular, I found the staff to truly be outstanding in every way. The room (single occupancy) was really nice, with a semi-modern Smart TV. One disappointment was the YouTube App on it which was not compatible with the browser (probably a custom config). The app needed to have a compatible browser (eg Chrome) installed which obviously is not something the hospital wants a patient to do. Everything dealing with the meals was excellent. Overall, considering that a hospital visit is never on one's desired "To-Do" list, this hospital experience was extremely satisfying.

I had total knee replacement surgery. The entire experience, from admissions to post op, was superb. Everyone involved in my medical care treated me with warmth, kindness and respect. I particularly like that this is a smaller hospital. It is quiet and does not have a hectic feel about it, which is a great environment for receiving medical care.

The staff at this ENTIRE HOSPITAL ARE SOOOO RUDE!! I've always been treated rudely at Mease Dunedin or Dunedin Mease.. no one including the doctors smile or have a friendly tone here.. the tall thin RN in a long white lab (doctor coat) IS THE WORST!! She never smiles, and she thinks everyone there is drugs seeking... I always get the feeling that everyone there thinks I'm drugs seeking or mentioned I was in pain. I have never abused narcotics. I have a bad back and they asked what I was on, and it began in the ambulance ride they talk about you as if you're not there. If you don't have feelings, that was fun... Looking at my med list making fun of how many meds I'm asking why I'm on so many meds it's Humiliating.!! I went there because I haven't received any healing for my terrible rash. I was diagnosed with dermatitis at Morton Plant, which they treat you much better at more implant. I would've gone there, but I guess there was a parade or a graduation down there in the ambulance EMTs warned me it would be crazy with the traffic... When I walk in I first see the 6 foot tall skeleton with blonde hair wearing a lab coat who is so rude one time I was there having a panic attack telling her I usually take benzo as a pain or I have a seizure and she would not give me one thinking you know who's there for drug seeking purposes, my nurse tonight was incredibly rude and so is that registered nurse... She acted like I have been picking out it when I said I'm not she said yes you have and she shamed me for wearing tight clothes when it was just a bra.. She said "wearing that is not gonna help!" " That's a little tight" and I have to wear a bra when I go around what do they expect me to do?

Dec 2025 I had left hip surgery by Dr c Grayson from the moment I checked in till the day of check out was like a well tuned orchestra. This was my second hip replacement I would definitely recommend Dr. Grayson and mease Dunedin for their care and compassion My care was handled by a bunch of nurses and techs who made sure that I didn't want or need for anything. There was true compassion for dealing with pain either through constant ice pouches or medication. Meals were delivered daily and on time. Nurses Amy , Diana & Jill kudos to you for going above and beyond on my care. Stacey , Mandy & Michael thank you for your kindness teaching me which foot goes to heaven and help(L) Stacey thanks for checking in on me when you didn't have too ! . All the techs Amy , Sheila , Abby, Amanda & Jonathan thank you all for doing what you do plus keeping me full of juices.
