NYU Langone Medical Associates - Delray Beach

I'm actually rating the Boca office, but I have the same comments as at least one other person who visited Delray, so I think it's a systemic problem I selected a doctor in this office, from my Fl Blue directory. I made an appointment, gave them my insurance info - yes, that'll work, I'm told. I waited 2 months for my appointment. I spent 10 minutes doing the check in kiosk, and at the end of the process, the automated message tells me that the office doesn't take my insurance! Now, I didn't put new insurance info in, they had it from when I made my appointment.They didn't tell me then, they didn't tell me in the 2 months I was waiting for an appt, and they didn't tell me in the 2 confirmation calls they made to me. I went to the front desk, where I waited another 10 minutes to hand my info over, and then another 10 minutes while they did their research, and was told, No, we don't take your insurance . It took my an hour and a half RT, to find out that I can't see a doctor and need to start the process again, waiting another 2+ months to see a doctor. Yeah, the incompetence and inconsideration for someone who has a documented problem that needs to be addressed, well, it's not a good look for a health care provider. No matter how my insurance my change, NYU Langone will never be my healthcare provider.

The care I received at last week for my colonoscopy was above and beyond my expectations. From the referral by my Internal Med doctor, Natalie Voorn, to the pre-op PA Cristina Nunez-Christopher, to the Anesthesiologist, Ryan Gualtier, to the Gastronomist, Joseph Tripodi, I felt comfortable, relaxed, and well taken care of. This is a super team, and I never felt uneasy at any point in the procedure. I highly recommend this group, and fell that they were a great team!

We called ahead to make sure they took my insurance. They tapped on their little computer, looked up my insurance information, and said, "Yes, kind people, we do take your insurance." So, as trusting people who think they are dealing with a competent doctor's office, my Mom proceeds to take 40 minutes out of her work day just to DRIVE me there... to this place called NYU Langone Blah Blah of Delray Beach. And what happens when we get there? Do we get the most spectacular treatment in the world? Do we get treated like honored guests... like actual patients with a soul? Nay! Instead, they say -- and I kid you not when I tell you this -- "We actually don't accept your insurance. Did you call your insurance company to confirm we accept them?" Really? Are you serious? I guess it was our fault for not calling the insurance company... Because, you know, that's not something you could mention on the phone... ...BEFORE my Mom spent a total of 80 minutes of her time driving me there (40 min there, 40 min back). Smh. P.S. 2 stars instead of 1 because hey, at least they didn't charge us a cancellation fee, you know? Lol.

I have been a patient at NYU for 4 years. This practice used to be excellent.Not anymore. The practice has hired uncaring incompetent doctors. The doctors that I used to see seem over worked with too many patients to remember who you are. Communication is awful, it takes days for a doctor to answer you. I have left this practice and the 3 doctors that I used to see here. It's one big factory, stay away!!!
