Deceitful Practices I came to Florida two years ago, upon looking for an internist my research brought me to Dr. Michael Block. My girlfriend and I have been patients for over a year and at some time during our visits, Dr. Block asked us to join his Concierge patient group which said would cost $1,200 for the year. We joined. Our yearly concierge was coming to an end in December of 2024. He said that my renewal amount could be at my discretion. I had an appointment January 2 for a fasting blood test. At that visit, he said that if I didn't renew my concierge now I would have to go to the lab because he only takes blood from VIPs. I said that my girlfriend and I will write you a check right now. After he took my blood, I handed him a check for $800 which he immediately turned his nose up, And said I can't except this, my Patients are paying $1800, how fair is it to them. We went home very upset and annoyed. Within one hour we returned to speak to him about how we felt.He met us in the outside waiting room. I told him that I was upset With his reaction to my check and that I decided not to be a VIP any longer. His immediate response was to get up out of the chair across from us and not allow us to speak. He pointed his finger at us and said " Not ANOTHER WORD" He totally lost his temper and behaved unprofessionally. He said he already cashed our check and would have to write another one.We waited for 20 minutes and he called us into the back room. There he tried to apologize for his behavior and said it was due to not eating and he never loses his temper. He also said that he lost his home and obviously needed my money. He asked to who to write check out to.He handed the check to us.We tried to speak to discuss the issues and he totally shut us down and said there was no debate. I made an appointment For all of my test results January 8 at 9:30. When we arrived, he greeted the other people in the waiting room.I said Good Morning and he dismissed me He was purposefully trying to put other people before me.He asked the people if they had someone waiting for them so he could put them ahead of my appointment. They answered They were not in any rush at all.His plan didn't work.He then called me into get my blood test results. He ushered in someone from his front staff to witness our visit. He went into a trance and was speaking very slowly and made no sense. My girlfriend spoke up and asked we are here for this appointment to get blood test results. He said I have the test results but I have to review them and then you can have them in a timely manner"My girlfriend said we want the results now and please give us copies. He refused. He said again in a timely manner.Dr block has major issues He made us leave after waiting the whole weekend until today.Wednesday.We drove away and someone from office named Destiny called said The Doctor will discuss results come back.We arrived back at 11:1. He came out and he would see us in a timely manner. He made us wait til 12:15 He verbally gave me my results. I asked for a copy he said he would... He left the room and in returning he wanted me to sign a release form of liability. I asked him liability for what. His response was if you don't sign this you"re not getting you printed results. No results !!!!!! If you"re Looking for a Geriatric or internist in Florida STAY AWAY from Dr Block!!!!!

Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Block's office has been extremely underwhelming. My first visit was in April 2024, when I went for an annual checkup. They did my bloodwork in the office, but I had to return the following week because some of the tests they were supposed to have done were not included. Soon after, I got an invoice for approximately $1,000 for said bloodwork, which almost gave me a heart attack. When I called his office, I was told by Alicia that there had been a few patients with whom they had this issue. Unbeknownst to me, appears they sent to an out-of-network lab. Since he is an in-network provider for me, I assumed his office would use an in-network lab. It took several months, but that issue has been resolved; however, I had requested the bloodwork be sent to another of my doctors and it never was. Upon calling again a month ago to follow up on said request, I was told Alicia is no longer working there and dealt with Lisa instead. To be honest, after these mishaps, I had not looked to go to another doctor because Dr. Block seems to genuinely care about his patients and Alicia was very patient oriented and nice, which in my book, are important. My interactions with Lisa have been very unpleasant and unacceptable. Last week, upon me calling to check on status of the copies of the bloodwork, she actually hung up on me. This morning, after receiving another bill for $789 and confirming with their billing department that this bill is the result of them not having any insurance information for me, I called the doctor's office to review this matter. Lisa demonstrated zero concern about this second billing incident, insisting I had a Medicare # (when I do not), emphasizing that I had listed my insurance information under Medicare on form they have. Mind you, the # listed in incorrect box was the correct # for my health insurance. Given the circumstances and the fact that she is new and getting to know the office's patients, one would think she would have been more focused on showing some empathy for a patient who is explaining what has happened twice now and is trying to confirm the office has the insurance information necessary to file claims with the carrier and avoid additional mishaps. Her response was a nonchalant "don't worry, they just refile and the insurance pays." At this point, unfortunately, I will be looking for another primary doctor. Staff is very important, as it is with whom the patient must interact on constant basis. Not good. I hope Dr. Block is aware of how his patients are being treated and takes the necessary steps to prevent too many from leaving his practice. Sad...

Dr Block has been caring for my mom, he is very attentive, listens to her needs and tries his best to make her feel as good as she can in her elder years. He promptly has returned phone calls after hours and is always concerned and tries to address any health issues she has and has tried to come up with a good solution. His staff is always pleasant on the phone and in person as well. Natasha and Michelle are always very helpful with any needs we have.

Excellent doctor you can tell he actually cares for his patients unlike some other practices out there. I've been having unexplained medical issues and it felt like other doctors were not taking me seriously or just looking to take my money. I felt the complete opposite about Dr. Block he's very caring and you can tell he wants to help. Also his nurse who did my bloodwork was great I'm usually very nervous to get blood drawn but she made it so quick and painless. He Highly recommend to anyone out there looking for a good doctor
