Utpal Desai, MD, is board certified in cardiothoracic surgery. After his medical education, he went on to complete his residency in general surgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He continued with a cardiothoracic/vascular surgery fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian St. LukeaEU(tm)s Medical Center in Chicago. Dr Desai received additional training in endovascular surgery at New York Presbyterian University, the Hospitals of Columbia and Cornell.

I had an open heart aortic valve replacement in May of 2022. I was fortunate to have a skilled surgeon and team to perform my surgery. These are life saving procedures. Dr Desai did a fantastic job on my triple bypass which ch took over 6 hours. I was very lucky he was available for my surgery. A very kind and genuine man. His son is the dr that will be delivering my first grandchild in April of 2024.
