I was diagnosed with aortic valve stenosis 2 years ago, during those 2 years it progressed from moderate to severe and my cardiologist told me it was time to replace it. I had no knowledge of any cardio thoracic surgeons in the area; by only what I could consider a miracle I fell into the hands of Dr. Mangonon and his team. My pre-op consultation was with Dr. Mangonon's assistant Jennifer who explained my options in detail and explained to me why her and Dr. Mangonon came to the conclusion that I was a candidate for the minimally invasive AVR surgery, she gave me the confidence to go through with it, so we scheduled the surgery. To my surprise, Dr. Mangonon called me the following afternoon to discuss the surgery and answer all my questions. He was phenomenal, gave me so much confidence in him just by listening to him. The surgery went really well, the nurses in the ICU at Advent Health Daytona were incredible. The next day I was transferred to the step-down unit where I got great care from all the hospital staff. Dr. Mangonon's team checked in on me frequently to see how I was feeling. I cannot be more thankful or show enough gratitude and respect for what Dr. Mangonon did for me. He is not only an exceptional surgeon but he is also an amazing human being showing compassion and humility. I would recommend Dr. Mangonon 100% for anyone needing cardio thoracic surgery, you will be in the best hands that you could possibly ever imagine. Thank you Dr.Mangonon. God bless you.

14 years ago Dr Mangonon and Dr Downing did a 5 way bypass on me. I was 61 then, 75 now. Just had a heart cath done July 3rd. All bypass grafts still I very good condition. Only one had a minor occlusion at the tip below the graft. Great doctor and amazing worh.

I delt with Dr. Mangonon at Lawnwood Medical Center &Heart Institute. He did a valve replacement for my daughter, Cristina in 2013 and open heart surgery for my husband George in 2014. He is a man of great skill and humility. As a Cardiac nurse myself, I have great admiration for and feel privileged to have known and trusted this man. God bless.

The office is outstanding with scheduling, tirage and question(s) with Nurse Patty, Ashley and team. The initial and post-surgery appointments will be with Jennifer, APRN who is polite, knowledgeable and informative on the procedure as Dr. Mangonon and her have reviewed the case and the procedure to move forward with prior to the appointment. Dr. Mangonon will call you either that day or the following day depending on his hospital procedure caseload. He speaks with you on the procedure and asks you if you have any questions. Dr. Mangonon's surgical team is equally outstanding as was the AdventHealth Daytona Beach Hospital pre-surgery and post-surgery team to include the IUC and step-down unit. IUC nurses were awesome and were very attentive to you needs and issues and comfort. Dr. Mangonon's post-surgery team with Erika, PC-A was outstanding as well. She is the main point of contact after surgery and is outstanding as well. Dr. Mangonon is equally a very good manager and trusts his employees for patient feedback, progress and team input. He makes no decisions until he meets with this team for all input. If you require heart surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Mangonon and his team.
