He is one of the smartest, most informative, kindest, & funniest doctors I know. He takes his time with each patient and makes sure the patient understands what is going on. No rushing in and out of the room. He is the BEST!!!

My mother, Carmen, was rushed to Broward Health Coral Springs with heart failure and came under the care of Dr. El-Shalakany. He implanted a pacemaker, but what followed was a series of concerning events that ultimately left our family heartbroken.
Just one week after discharge, my mother had to return to the hospital because she felt she was being shocked by the pacemaker. Dr. El-Shalakany suggested that she must have "done something" to cause a lead to come out of place and told her she would need another surgery. She was taken into the operating room, but no surgery was actually performed--only adjustments made with the pacemaker rep. We were told the issue was "fixed."
The very next night in the hospital, her heart began racing. Dr. El-Shalakany then told her she now had atrial fibrillation and would need yet another surgery. She was sent home on multiple medications that had awful side effects.
At follow-up visits, my mother asked reasonable questions about her condition and the medications she was prescribed. Instead of answering clearly, he would respond with questions of his own--never giving her the information or reassurance she was seeking.
On her second and last visit, my mother asked if it was safe to travel. Dr. El-Shalakany told her to "stop being so afraid" and assured her nothing would happen. She trusted his opinion. Tragically, just a few months later, in November, my mother passed away at only 62 years old--on the very flight he told her to take.
I truly believe something was wrong with the pacemaker from the beginning, and that Dr. El-Shalakany either overlooked or dismissed warning signs. My mother was full of life and love, but she did not receive the compassionate, careful care she deserved. Our family is devastated.
Please be cautious and ask every question you need when putting your trust in this doctor.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Dr. Ashraf A. El-Shalakany Isn't friendly, He rushes his patients when your talking to him and worst part is he DOESN'T CARE FOR THERE BEST INTEREST!! THAT OFFICE IS A JOKE! If I could have given no stars I would have. He wanted to send me for these tests because I've noticed my Apple Watch tells me when my heart rate goes down and it gets very low like 49 which is probably causing chest pain off and on when it happens and sleepiness all the sudden as well but it was then problems after problems with the office and the dr for NOT doing there job and after calling them a week or so later they said oh it's not approved yet, not yet, oh not yet, not yet and come to find out they never submitted anything. This office didn't bother to call my insurance or send in paper work for the tests and these tests never got approved and had me waiting and waiting for weeks upon weeks!! RIDICULOUS!! Then when I called asking about it weeks later they said oh we didn't get the approval yet (which they didn't even put in for). I then get a letter saying he's no longer seeing Ambetter patients or something! WORST OFFICE EVER!! They don't deal with there problems!! Very disappointed because they got mainly good reviews on Google and some that weren't good as well but sometimes you want to give them the benefit of the doubt which is what I did. DON'T BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME THERE!! Trust me!!
