My brother was sent to the ER by his cardiologist. He did wait longer than he had expected, but overall had a good experience. I arrived at the hospital while he was in the Cath Lab getting a stent placed. Unfortunately there were issues going through the artery in his arm so he had to stay the night so they could go through the groin. The procedure was successful, but due to his moving his leg to soon he ended up in the ICU. They were able to get the bleed to stop, and he is home now. My brother and I thought the staff through the whole experience was excellent...professional, respectful, and kind.

This 84 bed hospital surprised me. At the end of May my father suffered a medical incident on a cruise ship and was transported to cape Canerval hospital where he stayed in ICU for 3 weeks requiring extensive life support including a ventilator, dialysis, a pacemaker and more. The doctors, nurses, the APRNs, and chaplains took excellent care of my dad and saved his life. And a special shout out to the electrophyisologist Dr. Lee! We are still trying to get him home from the rehab hospital but I am so thankful for this wonderful staff. Thank you so much for helping my father and keeping my mother and I in your prayers and care. God bless you all

Space Coasts best hospital and staff! Plus, epic views from hospital rooms of the gorgeous Banana Lagoon. I love seeing dolphins on their morning routines! ICU took great care of my sister, the only thing I'd change is how quickly she was released to Kindred Hospital; On top of the fact my sister did not get the treatment she needed while at Kindred, actually the exact opposite -she even coded!!! Thank God she is no longer at Kindred and back at a real hospital.

When I arrived with my health issues (cardiac damage and diabetes I wasn't aware of) the ER was slammed. The staff remained calm and professional despite adversity; short staffed. I remained patient, but I admit, I became impatient. I became aware that this medical team worked diligently. There was no complacency. I would like to give a shout out to every member of the Canaveral team: ER lobby, ER staff, Nurses, Doctors, food, custodial. EVERYONE! These are fantastic people doing a difficult life and death job. Please, if you go to Canaveral be patient. This team cares about you. You are not forgotten. Don't lose your Cool. I give this team 5 stars. I am proud that Brevard has a hospital staff like this one. Sincerely and Respectfully, Jonathan Hargreaves

In short, the nurse I had was amazing. The security guard was friendly. The receptionist was great. However the Nurse Practitioner I had ignored everything I said and her diagnosis did absolutely nothing to help. I came in with a heart issues and she prescribed me anxiety medication. Since when were NP's psychologists? Seems like a great way to discredit a patient and get you out the door. Fun. Then if it goes to court, you can claim I have a mental disorder and fallow it up with being baker acted. No wonder people lost trust the medical field these days. I've gone here before, years ago, and had the exact same experience. All the support staff were amazing and the nurse practitioner did the same exact thing. Downplay and discredit. I came onto google reviews to update that, but seems Health First managed to get it taken down. Fun. Health First can't fix mistakes but will hide them. Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA): This law states that if you have medical issues, you must be treated. If those symptoms get worse, that is the fault of the care provider. Screenings must be provided. You must be stable from your symptoms. (My symptoms have gotten worse. You do not have the best interest of your patients), its just a numbers game. Also here is the law for those wondering: (b) Aggravating circumstances include: (1) Requesting proof of insurance, prior authorization, or a monetary payment prior to appropriately screening or initiating stabilizing treatment for an emergency medical condition, or requesting a monetary payment prior to stabilizing an emergency medical condition; (I was asked for insurance prior. I was asked for payment during) (2) Patient harm, or risk of patient harm, resulted from the incident; or (My condition has worsened) (3) The individual presented to the hospital with a request for examination or treatment of a medical condition that was an emergency medical condition, as defined by SS 489.24(b) of this title. Definition of Medical Emergency: (1) A medical condition manifesting itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain, psychiatric disturbances and/or symptoms of substance abuse) such that the absence of immediate medical attention could reasonably be expected to result in-- (i) Placing the health of the individual (or, with respect to a pregnant woman, the health of the woman or her unborn child) in serious jeopardy; (ii) Serious impairment to bodily functions; or (iii) Serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part; or Also, if you read the reviews it seems giving you a diagnosis of Anxiety is this hospitals default to discredit your condition and get you out the door. "Its all in your head". Not if its getting worse! Never mind the NP, after claiming I had anxiety tried offering suggestions on where I should go to be seen for my symptoms. It's also written in my medical notes from this NP, that I agreed to her treatment and diagnosis. I did not, I verbally told the nurse and refused the anxiety prescription on the spot. I never filled the prescription.
