If I could give a negative a number, I certainly would!! I went to the ER with chest pains. ER was wonderful. Unfortunately I had a follow up with the elder Dr Mathews, who had no idea why I was at his office. After waiting 2 hours, he breezed through my paperwork! Then scheduled me for a carotid artery test 2 months later. Then to get the results of my test I had to wait 3 months. I called the the office to verify appointment, and I do not have an appointment! So, why do I have a card with with the date and time of appointment? The answer, she must have forgot to hit save. I now have an appointment for October 2st. I am looking new Dr.

My husband had TAVR surgery on 11/5/2024, with Dr Adithya Mathews. Unfortunately during the procedure he had a small stroke. We were aware prior to the surgery that this was a possibility although very small. My husband had to be transferred to inpatient rehab. I should have known that when the doctor never bothered to show up to discharge him, we should find a new cardiologist, but we decided to see what happens on his follow up visit. As I have seen on many other reviews, trying to get an appointment is ridiculous. They told me to call back "when he feels better". When I brought him in for his follow up visit, Dr Thomas Mathews came into the room, told my husband his heart cath showed significant damage to his aortic valve, and he really needs to go for TAVR. Ir reminded him that the surgery had already been performed and my husband had a small stroke. Now I don't expect a physician to remember anything about a patient, however I would expect the physician to at least review the chart. When he directed his attention to me he told me he was "giving me a new medication that would help me". I was sent to Dr Mathews initially for a slow heart from being in beta blockers. I pointedly asked him if this medication was contraindicated and he assured me it was fine - Dr Mathews prescribed a beta blocker. I do have to say that Dr Thomas Mathews is a very pleasant man, but this office is just way too busy. Do yourself a favor and stay far away!!!

Dr Mathews himself is great. Aside from the extreme wait time (should inform patients of the possible wait time) his staff is atrocious. The elderly women in the front seem to not have any patience, they discuss how "nasty" the patients are meanwhile their attitudes aren't any better when handling patient concerns and questions. They also discuss patient information loud enough that I was able to hear in the waiting room-- definitely a HIPAA violation. If you have an upcoming surgery with another provider, plan on having to reschedule because they TAKE THEIR TIME getting authorizations, referrals, and clearances sent out in a timely manner and when you express frustration for the inconvenience you're dismissed and basically told you have no right to be upset. It's a fact that your staff can make or break the patient experience no matter how good the Dr is.

This place actually admits that you will have an average wait of 2 hrs past your appointment times on a regular basis. My doctor and I have been trying to get my stress test results for 2 weeks and keep getting told it hasn't been transcribed yet. These people literally hold people's lives in their hands and they could care less. STAY AWAY from this place!

As a Patient of Dr. Mathews. I am very happy with the care I recieve. He is highly recommend and I did have to wait a couple of months for an appointment. He is a caring and concerned Doctor. Has many years of experience. Him and his staff work very hard. I recommend him 100%.
