I've been seeing Dr Nimer for many years.I was having shortness of breath and constantly tired/sleeping. It ended up being blockages ......I now have 2 stents and am back to normal. He is a great physician.Caring and very knowledgeable! He figures out the problem!
Staff is super helpful & accommodating......very pleasant practice.

I am very unhappy with this practice. Dr Nimer on November 20,2024 performed a groin stent for 95% blockage. I have an autoimmune disease that causes bleeding with many meds including the blood thinners and aspirin required after this surgery.
I called 12/22 to express concern about excessive bleeding and was told they had no providers there and my follow up was 12/30/24. Told me call my primary. I continued to plead my case finally being told the nurse would call me . I still have heard nothing. Another call regarding my concerns have heard nothing from this practice.
Their Post Op leaves much to be desired. After my monthly appt I shall be leaving this practice.

Very nice doctor but not progressive in anyway. His treatment plans towards patients is very generic and archaic. My father who is in his late 50's was seen by him after having a heart Cath w/ stents in the LAD. Me myself working for a group of cardiologist in pasco county would have preferred he went to another doctor but due to him living in Hernando and the situation being an emergency he was attended by Nimer in Oakhill.
After 1 year of seeing Nimer I noticed the treatment plan Nimer had him on was not beneficial towards his condition. After reading his progress notes it seemed that he had no idea what treatment to give my father and just went with the same old routine he would give to any patient even though he said my father was a "special case". Special case means more in depth treatment and test, right? I guess not because he didn't do anything extra even when we requested it or even when asked questions on new treatment plans he could prescribe to my father.
He was diagnosed with CHF and low EF due to deterioration of the heart muscle. My father is very tech savvy so he kept a digital record of all his test, BPs, o2 readings, and monitored himself during his exercise cycles. So you would think my father is proactive with his health why don't I try to be proactive with his treatment and research? Nope he never did...
One thing that concerned me was when he got his D.fib installed, Nimer did not have any of the equipment to monitor his readings in office. He kept saying he was going to get the software but he never did... it's kind of disturbing knowing you're in this field and you simply can't invest in yourself to have the proper monitoring equipment in office.
Next was the lack of concern for cardiac rehab. When I consulted with other doctors they said my father should have been on a cardiac rehab program because he had no other health conditions that prohibited him from receiving rehab. Nimer dismissed the idea of it when we asked about it. Once again I was giving him the benefit and chance to be better than what I saw.
Finally after a year I brought my fathers progress notes over to some doctors that I'm friends with and they recommended that I switch my father immediately, its sad that even the product reps told me to switch him to another practice because nimer treats every patient as a "geriatric case" so he doesn't look at ways to better your situation but simply he just looks to do the regular routine he's been doing for years.
Like I said his personality is not bad, he is a friendly doctor but if you want an advanced doctor in the field of cardiology and you're looking to be practical with your heart health... I cannot recommend him.
After switching to a new cardiologist they couldn't even believe that after one year of seeing Nimer he did nothing with my dads heart health. It's very disappointing. The front staff also need to be educated on basic questions that will be asked when a patient is visiting such as lab questions, record request, follow ups, etc. There is an older lady whom I don't want to name because I don't want to jeopardize her job that did not know anything about the field she was working in, she would even give an attitude when asking basic questions. I get that the job is stressful but I'm asking a simple question about records please don't get at an attitude. You're in a professional practice not the street.
Right now our new cardiologist has my dad in a program at Tampa general hospital and he is doing much better. They're much aggressive with his treatment plan and he is seeing improvement, much better than when he was at Nimers practice.
So if you're very proactive with your health and want the best ... avoid this doctor.
If you're someone who is ok with a regular sub standard treatment, then I guess he is ok.
I have a lot more to say but I feel this will be enough to help the community make a better decision on the type of cardiologist they want tending to their health.

Dr Nimer is very tentative, seems to care, wanting figure out what is ur issue. Saved my life while in emergency room having a heart attack & they wanted to send me home, he was the one who knew what to do.

He told my husband to go home and enjoy The best life he could. He said he wouldn't touch one of his arteries for $1 million. In other words go home and die. We got a new cardiologist and found out that his aorta valve was sticking and he needed to have it replaced. We went straight to the Cleveland clinic in Ohio and they were able to give him three bypasses and a new aorta valve And our insurance paid the whole bill. It's been several months and my husband is back to normal. Thank you Cleveland clinic, Number one in the country number two in the world for heart problems. Shame on you Dr. Nimer!!
