They lie about whether they take your insurance, there is no communication between departments, their billing people never pick up the phone or call you back, their medical records folks rarely pick up the phone or call you back, the doctors fail to sign off on paperwork to get records sent out even after REPEATED request by phone and email over the course of MONTHS and they wait 6 months to actually send out medical bills. The least professional institution I have ever encountered and I'm counting Chuck E. Cheese on that list

The building looks very rundown and most of the Doctors need to go back to medical school ; their knowledge seems to be limited and outdated .

Completely disappointed with the facility. The check-in is often disorganized. I have a copayment however the clerk doesn't know how to process payments and says. You will get billed but the accounting is often inaccurate and you must spend time correcting errors. Secondly, do not ever call because you will be placed on hold for hours with no one returning to the call. Paperwork is often inaccurate and there is no follow up. Overall, this is an entire disservice to the community.

This is ridiculous. The doctors are inexperienced and frankly incompetent. My doctor didn't recognize that one reading of high BP was due to severe dehydration and tried to put me on medication; never told me to have my cholesterol testing while fasting and almost put me on medication; was almost 3 hours late to one appointment; completely blew off another; sent me to a Covid testing site to get a flu test; sent me for labs and then wanted to read out loud to me each and every result (rather than just sharing the piece of paper with me); called me randomly in the middle of the work day to have our telehealth appointment then rather than the scheduled time, pulling me out of a meeting; couldn't answer basic questions about the meaning of something she said; couldn't figure out her own computer; and couldn't take a single decision without leaving the room three times to ask someone else. Also, their credit card machine has been broken for months and so I keep getting bills in the mail for my copays. Absurd. I'm gone.
Don't mess around with your own health. Find a good doctor who knows what they're doing and will care for you. It won't be here.

I cannot adequately express how terrible my experience was with Howard Faculty Practice Plan dermatology. I made an appointment for a specific service, waited over an hour to be seen, only to be told by Doctor Jameka McElroy-Brooklyn that she doesn't perform that service on Mondays (something that was never disclosed to me while making the appointment) and that we'd have to reschedule. However I was still fully charged for the office visit. I have called Howard over thirty times in 3 months to try to resolve the bill discrepancy- most calls it takes approximately 12 people transferring me to different departments to speak to anyone in the dermatology office. I have tried to contact Dr. McElroy-Brooklyn and her supervisor many times, only to be told they'll call me back but not once have they done this. In short: there is absolutely zero communication within Howard, they do not act like they care about their patients at all, and will profit off of their failure to communicate at your expense.
