Waterbury Hospital

Horrified by our experience. In the emergency department with my husband, there was what looked like blood on the hospital bed's remote and a piece of flesh(??) stuck to the curtain. We showed it to a nurse, tried to be nice about it and not sound like complainers, and she just gaslit us, saying "we sanitized the room before you, so any blood must've come from you," when he wasn't even bleeding. It was obviously old blood and not from him. I was shocked by this. We also had to call for someone to help him to the bathroom for 30-40 minutes. When we finally just got up and hobbled over to the nursing station, I expected to see no one since they must've been understaffed to not bother with us, but no, a bunch of nurses just talking. Bathroom was a filthy mess, toilet paper on the ground making it unusable, large crack between the wall for anyone to look in. Awful experience. Thankfully we were able to get out of there quickly because I felt so skeeved out every moment I was there.

I wasn't feeling well. My husband took me to the emergency room at Waterbury Hospital, and in there i was treated very well. I learned later I had to have surgery. I stayed a total of 6 days and the hospitality they gave me was phenomenal! The staff: Dr's, nurses, etc were all so kind and very attentive. To be honest I never expected this kind of treatment, I was thinking I'm just another patient they are gonna overlook; but not at all. I just want to say thank you again Waterbury Hospital staff for making my stay so pleasant. I really appreciated that

I want to share my deepest gratitude to the entire team on the 5th floor Pomeroy Pavilion. During one of the hardest moments of my life, the nurses and PCAs here made me feel cared for, safe, and understood. To the nurses Patience, Kim, and Mark . Thank you for your compassion, your patience with me, and the comfort you gave me when I needed it most. And to the PCAs Natasha, Marzena, Teresa, and Sasha. Your kindness, gentleness, and warm hearts truly made a difference every single day. You all treated me like a human being, not just a patient. I will never forget the care, the support, and the genuine love you showed me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I have been in the emergency room and just recently performed a colonoscopy. It was great experience and the staff was wonderful. The preop and recovery areas are very comfortable and clean. Thank you so much, I agree with some of the reviews that the emergency area needs an upgrade. Overall great staff...

I had the BEST birth experience with Waterbury hospital. The nurses on that floor were AMAZING to say the least! They were super informative, kept checking in, and made sure myself, baby, and husband were all taken care of. Kate was the one who checked on me every hour, got me ready, and really explained everything. The other nurses were so great, especially our night nurse who was actually one of my students parents. She was fabulous!! I could not recommend them more!
