About Dr. Mariam Azeem, MD
Dr. Mariam Shakir Azeem, provider of cardiology care, joins Dr. Paul Kelly, Dr. Rebecca Scandrett, Dr. Michael Malinics, Dr. Kevin Kett, and Dr. Joseph Gnanaraj at Franklin Medical Group Cardiology. Dr. Azeem received her medical degree from Aga Khan University Medical College in Pakistan. In 2014, she completed her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Azeem is board certified in internal medicine and echocardiography. Her clinical interests include women's health, preventative cardiology, heart failure and population health management. She looks forward to serving new patients from Greater Waterbury and surrounding towns.

My husband saw Dr. Azeem last week for the first time. We both are pleased with her professionalism as well as knowledge and consideration as to what we say. Asking and answering questions and making us feel relaxed and confidence in her ability. The Office staff was welcoming and professional in what they need to do. She refuses to investigate what caused my medical emergency. She prescribed meds without knowing what the actual diagnosis is, it took 4 days for her to send in the RX. You can call their office anytime of the day, don't expect anyone to answer. She's biased because according to her "I'm young and healthy". I saw her for almost 2yrs with the same complaints and she just wouldn't take me serious. Even after the medical emergency that left me hospitalized she wouldn't try to determine what caused the episode.
