Everything takes forever and the nurses are understaffed and overworked! You better not need too much because you won't get it! I really dislike how in the er they search your purse and confiscate personal meds which is then a huge ordeal to have them returned when you finally get discharged! I could easily have given them to my husband. Bad system. And you best not have severe pain and also be on mmt or you're going to have to just suffer.
I been to Danbury Hospital only once and I received excellent care in the emergency room.
My dad had a broken leg and was in serious pain and it took 2 hours and 30 min to get a nurse to even look at it and then we had at least another hour of waiting to actually get him to a room to be x-rayed then another 30 min only for them to rap his leg with a basic type of casting that anyone could have done at home. Then in order to leave we waited for another 30 min. In the end it took 4 hours which I guess over all isn't the worst but the time to just get him the help took way longer than it should have. People actually started leaving they took so long. Honestly the worst hospital in the world.
Although inside seems higher than 1 star, I want to bring attention to violation of privacy and putting at risk of theft identity to visitors. When entering, I was asked to show i.d. I happily complied, then my drivers license was swiped into the hospital computer. I told the man immediately I did not want my information in his computer, and asked who now could access my name, addy, dob, dl#, etc. I was told he and his supervisor could. I don't know them, and after major hospital breaches of records, with HIPPA in place, think how less the safeguards on this info will be. When will it be destroyed? Who is accessing it in a controlled manner? NO CONSENT GIVEN. If I find my I'd has been compromised from this hospital, my lawyer will be serving you.
