CommonSpirit St. Mary-Corwin Hospital

I had my first appointment here today , it went very smoothly. The ladies at check in were very friendly and polite, the waiting room was clean and comfortable. My visit with Dr. Ruff was amazing. She listened intently and helped me through a difficult time today. The nurse was also friendly and took her time with me. They are extremely supportive and thorough. Having blood drawn also went very well. Great staff! I'm so happy to have made the choice to come here. I will recommend Common Spirit to all my family and friends.

I have been the maintenance direct in several hospital and skilled nursing facilities around Denver so this review is based on 14 years of hospital experience. The building is beautiful. Well maintained! The staff is the best part of St. Mary-Corwin! What an amazing staff. From house keeping to the doctors, nurses and PT! What a great experience i had. There was no horror story of hospital food. The food was fantastic! What a great positive experience after hip replacement surgery!

I chose Common Spirit ( formerly known by the more practical name, St. Mary Corwin) for a simple x-ray of my foot because i had come previously and had gotten it done quickly and efficiently. Man, was i wrong. The process of disabusing me of the notion of prompt service began at the Admissions desk. Even though i just needed an x-ray, i had to start there. That desk had two women behind computer screens (of course). Ine dealt with the increasing line of customers while the other shuffled papers. Once past there, i went to the Diagnostic Imaging desk. I had about 40 minutes' wait, which gave me ample time to fill out a pointless form about 'falls'. Once finally someone called me, i had to spend time doing a series of online documents and provide multiple signatures. I signed fewer documents when i bought my house. Finally, i was supplied with a wristband, just like those on bedridden patients. After another wait, i was x-rayed by a very pleasant radiology tech. In all, my quick in and out ended up taking more than an hour, 90% of that simply occupying a chair. The staff were good people, but it doesn't seem to have enough of them. I prefer St. Mar Corwin (AKA Common Spirit) to their competition. But this visit left me exasperated.

I went to the ER at St. Mary Corwin and was billed over $6500 with $1650 out of pocket after insurance, yet I received almost no real care. It took a long time before anyone saw me and when the nurse finally did, she brought me the wrong medication at first. I ended up having to go to another ER to actually get treated. It's unacceptable to be billed thousands for poor care, long wait times, and mistakes. Patients deserve safe, timely, and accurate treatment not this experience....

The ultrasound tech was very welcoming, kind and knowledgeable. I felt at ease during the test. I had an MRI scheduled for later that day and she took it upon herself to contact the MRI department to see if they could see me sooner so I didn't have to wait an hour and a half. Overall i found the Common Spirit hospital to in include the gift shop extremely friendly and helpful!
