Update: I am updating this because Dr. MacDonald and Randy followed up with us and have been extremely kind and reflective and helpful. We are grateful for the follow up and communication moving forward and feel that this one incident has been rectified. Dr. MacDonald and his staff are wonderful in person. However, we are extremely disappointed with Dr. MacDonald. My mom had testing for a life saving TAVR procedure. The Dr. never followed up after anesthesia and intense testing and never even saw my mom afterwards. Over a week later, and 6 days before her surgery, a staff member called to tell her she is not a candidate for the surgery (and her delivery of this message was very cheery and odd considering the circumstances) and was unable to answer any questions. While we understand that is medically the right decision, he has not called her since to help her with the "now what" questions, as this now marks her end of life journey. Urgent messages to call my mom from her doctor and from my family have been placed and he still hasn't called her. It's so cruel and uncaring to not discuss this with her at all. We are now into the weekend with no call, no concern and no answers from him.
