Jennifer Margaret Tom, DO | Kaiser Permanente

I'm staying with Kaiser for one reason and that is Dr. Tom. There are good facilities out there but few Dr's, that Ive had.... and I've had many... that truly care about me. She actually cares about her patients. She's willing to discuss your care and listen to your concerns. She spends the time necessary to truly help you. She's not arrogant but kind and extremely competent. Dr. Tom was at Southwest Kaiser when I first started seeing her. I live within a mile of Southwest. I went to her for two years until she transferred to Skyline. I stayed at Southwest for a year, after she left, with another one of Kaiser's doctors. She was impersonal, seldom available and didnt even bother to present a caring compassionate presence. I now drive an hour and a half to see Dr. Tom. It's well worth my time. I couldn't speak more highly of her and her expertise.

Follow-up appt occurred on July 19th post non heart attack, heart event on July 15. Dr Tom was extremely responsive and proactive before I saw her in clinic. She reached out to cardiology immediately and submitted a referral to cardiology as well as ordered standard heart tests before I saw her in clinic. It was a bit of a mess on the communication between primary care and cardiology initially - wasn't clear on exactly what tests were needed during the office visit or in the future. It all got resolved during my visit. And after speaking with the cardiologist on 7/20, there was incredible service to get me in for a CTA the next day. Once everyone was on the same page, everything went quickly and smoothly. Everyone involved were extremely nice and supportive throughout my unexpected heart event journey.

Dr. Tom has been my primary care physician for the past 4 years. I have seen or conversed with Dr. Tom via email on numerous occasions about a variety of generally minor health concerns. She is without question the best doc of any specialty I've been lucky enough to see. I am writing this as I am reading reviews and searching disappointedly for a new PCP having left Kaiser for an employer sponsored healthcare plan. Dr. Tom you are the best!

I was dismissed by Dr. Tom when I expressed concerns over my health, specifically my menstrual cycle. Not having a period for half a year is concerning and I wanted to know what was happening with my body. She's the type of doctor that has made me ignore my own health because I don't want to waste the energy, time, or *money* trying to get help from a professional who just ignores me.

Dr. Tom is a thoughtful & extremely competent physician. I have complete confidence in her care & wellbeing for me.
