The front desk staff were sweet and festive, the medical assistants were friendly and helpful, and the doctors were extremely knowledgeable and kind. Such a positive experience all around!

I love PIH. This is about cardiologist dr A. He treated my mom in the early 2000's. Of all her doctors at that time, he was honest with me about her real situation & I appreciated that he told me the truth about how much time she had left. I will never forget that, he is an outstanding doctor. So happy he is still at PIH

I was born with a bicuspid valve. These valves are shaped oval. A normal valve is a circle. For 10 years ( I'm 65 years old ) Dr. Beckman has watched my valve with a echocardiogram . In November 2023 my Echo showed that my valve was working at 60% so Dr. Beckman tested me to see if I was a candidate for a TVAR procedure and referred me to the surgeons who would do the procedure. I met with Dr. Nayak and weirdly they just told me how the procedure would be done. Then I met with Dr.Tovar the second surgeon and he said things I did not understand. Anyway. Bad vibes all around and I wasn't even scheduled maybe some time in April. So I went and got a second opinion. The new surgeon showed me my valve. He did a thorough review of my reports and told me that at my age I would probably need another valve in the future So it is better for me to have my valve shaped into a circle and he also found that my aorta was small. He recommended open heart surgery to correct the defects. My valve failed quickly. November it was 60% by March it is working at 20%. He has scheduled an emergence surgery in 7 days from meeting me. Stay away from PIH cardiology. They don't care and they are incompetent!!
