Ventura County Medical Center

I've been here nearly the entire month prior, but the care here is good. More should be offered for family members like me who choose to stay in support of a loved one (e.g. offer a snack or drink on occasion when one can't leave the bedside) I appreciate all the care my spouse is receiving thus far

This place absolutely sucks. Just to check in for blood work takes upwards of 30 minutes to get called up to the check in desk. Than you sit in their little waiting room for 40 more minutes for no one to be called back. They need a new system because they absolutely are trash as a medical facility.

Just now my daughter got discharged from this hospital, they removed her appendix. The surgery went well. The service and the staff were so sweet, attentive, and outstanding in their jobs. I want to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the pediatrics department and the surgical department for taking such good care of my daughter

My husband had something in his eye and it was swollen and he could not open his eye without pain. At 3am, Dr. Moir and his team successfully removed the foreign object that had become embedded in his eye and caused a corneal abrasion. Huge thanks to you guys!

This has to be the worst hospital I've seen my dad broke his hand recently and it was appalling they took him to the E.r where a unnamed doctor said he would be home by that night after they put a cast on him and about 3 hours into the e.r he still had a temporary splint from the ambulance still on and a kind nurse esme realized that that wasn't supposed to be there so she put a very ok cast not like a normal cast more like a sling with gauze around his arm and then the unnamed doctor disappeared like he just left the hospital and for no reason they wanted to take him up to the 4th floor to put a cast on him. They also put the blood pressure machine on him way to tight causing him to burst a vein in his arm The fourth floor being the hospital rooms where you would stay for like a week or longer and as they were taking him up the same doctor apparently told him no water and there was no explanation for it. And as they were taking him up they made me and my family wait in the waiting room even though the nurse told us he would be in room 425 and the nurses stopped us from going in until a hour later. Then when the doctor was supposed to visit him at 5pm a nurse didn't come until 8:30 and that was because my mom was pestering the nurse's station. Mind you the button to call the nurses didn't work. So the nurse came said you'll have to wait until bone doctor comes tomorrow have his breakfast and after his meeting at 10am finally visit him on his rounds. And also the rooms were very unhygienic, claustrophobic, and grimey,. Then after all that the bone doctor actually came around 10:30 which surprised everyone and she was a kind doctor explained everything showed us the photos of the CT scan done in the e.r. and we told her what pharmacy to send his meds to. So end of my story he came into the e.r. at 3pm didn't get a actual sling/cast until 5:40pm was transferred at 6pm doctor didn't come until 10:30pm and was discharged at 1 am So overall avoid this hospital if you get injured drive to another one.
