My cardiologist referred me to Dr Ong for an A-Fib ablation, because that's what he supposedly specializes in. I went home and the vein he used to go up to my heart hemorrhaged and blew a large hole in my leg and 2 smaller "exit" holes in 2 other places. One was the venous vein. 5 weeks in the hospital, 7 bags of blood, 1 plasma bag, a wound vac attached for 3 months to the gigantic hole in my leg, sepsis, a UTI (twice), hallucinations, memory loss and on home health care for 2 months, out of work for 3 months, I'm back to work. Physically healed, but mentally scarred. The worst thing was, he could care less. He never bothered to call MY cardiologist and give her a report, nor did he return her phone calls when "I" informed her what happened. She had to get the report directly from the hospital! I understand that there are risks, but there is NO excuse for his response or lack thereof regarding the results of said risks. He's not my doctor, but my doctor should have been informed. The surgery was March 6th.... He came to my room for about 30 seconds a couple of times, but there has been ABSOLUTELY NO FOLLOW-UP with me since I left the hospital. OH and another thing... I'm still in A-FIB!!! So patient beware. I have absolutely no confidence or respect for this man. I have never written anything on Yelp before, but felt this was warranted and important. UPDATE .... it's been over a year and I'm still not healed from this "surgery". I still have nerve damage, nerve pain, leg pain and numbness. And the best part. He is still billing me. For $7!!!!
