Dr. Lisa K. Matzer, MD

Dr Lisa Matzer has been treating me for many years. She is always thorough during our visits. She never hurries through our appointments. And she is so very kind. She never shames me. Instead she provides diagnoses and care options outlining the potential outcomes of each path. She is blunt but she does not treat me like a mindless child. She speaks with me like an adult. I always have positive interactions with her and her wonderful staff person, Nick. I highly recommend her to anyone who is concerned with preventative cardiac care.

I love everything about Dr. Matzer and her staff. I had seen a previous cardiologist who blew off my symptoms and blamed everything on my weight. Because of Dr. Matzer's expertise and treatment over the years,I continue to feel better and better.She is really down to earth and listens to her patients and their needs. She is so knowledgeable and an expert in her field.She is a great communicator always explaining things in a way I can understand without talking down to me.She is funny and interesting to talk to. Dr. Matzer and her staff, Nick and Sara,are very accommodating and helpful.Nick is always willing to make appointments around my teaching schedule and is always patient and kind.The same goes for Sara who does the billing and the technician who does the tests/scans.I can't say enough great things about this doctor and her staff,and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great cardiologist and support team.

Dr.Matzer is the best in her class! She has a ton of experience and an excellent bedside manner that makes you feel like she really does care about how you're feeling and what's best for your situation. She's proactive and her office will reach out when it's time to get another test or evaluation. You can feel comfortable with her and know that she's going to do everything she can to ensure a positive outcome for you.

I have been a patient of Dr Matzer since 2011 , at which time I found out at a routine checkup at my GP that I may have a heart blockage. I called several cardiologists in LA to get an emergency appt...all of whom said that they could fit me in next month, in 2 months etc. Until I reached Lisa's office..she was obviously busy but heard the terror in my voice and listened..then proceeded to clear her next moring to see me...I had a widow maker..her attention and expertise told her it was serious and she saved my life. Need I say more? I would walk through flames for Dr Matzer

Dr. Matzer is a preventative care doctor. One of the previous reviewers says she does not extend prescriptions. She does not like to - that's true because she stresses the importance of visiting her every X number of months to ensure your wellness. As for Nick - I personally love the fact that the whole process (for me anyway) is via email. I hate calling offices, etc etc - Nick has always been very friendly and courteous with me. If you have to see a cardiologist - I prefer one who wants to see you and bugs you to come in rather than one who just signs the scripts and leaves you to your own devices. That is a personal choice.
